America's youth needs to hear the Gospel message
By James Lambert
Ever since last December, I have felt compelled to share the simple Gospel message with teens all over the Southland. Perhaps the reason for my desire to do this is because many years ago a friend reached out to me during my junior year in College with Christ's salvation message: a message that forever changed my life.
Somehow over the years many of us, who believe in the saving grace of Christ, have forgotten the need to share our story with our friends, relatives and neighbors. If there ever was a time to share the good news of Christ's liberating message (John 3:16), now is the time.
Sadly we live in a very troubling time. Today is a time of world uncertainty and the future potentially culminating in social and financial chaos. As the national debt grows by over $50,000 a second, we cannot depend on any institution to save us. Instead we must look to the God of Heaven to answer life's questions.
Sin has separated us from a relationship with a Holy God. The good news is that someone has already paid the penalty for our sin (selfish behavior & disobeying God's law). It is Jesus Christ, God's Son. He paid the ultimate price by dying on the Cross and shedding His blood for us. He is the Lamb of God that John the Baptist announced to the world. Christ's appearance (and life on earth) approximately 2,000 years ago is a fulfilment of over 150 prophecies by many Old Testament Jewish prophets over a period of over 600 years.
Christ's power and impact on people's lives is as evident today as it was during the times when he walked the streets in various towns in Israel. God's Holy Spirit is still reaching out to those who seek peace and a relationship with the God of Heaven and the Bible. People want peace. Many still seek truth for their lives. They need to understand life's meaning and purpose.
I have found many of life's questions can be found in the pages of the Bible. Despite criticism from atheists and agnostics, I have personally discovered that if you pray for God's wisdom, He will give you a supernatural insight into the pages of the Bible. Just ask God to show you truth and He will. May I suggest that you start reading the Book of John in New Testament.
Now is the time to share Christ with your friends and neighbors. America's youth needs to hear a positive and inspiring message... and that message is the Gospel of Christ. That is why I feel compelled to share Christ in front of high schools by passing out tracts and talking to teens about the liberating message of Christ. It's a message of freedom: if we allow Christ to be the Lord of our life. It can be a difference maker for anyone who wants real peace in their life.
