Founders of country make compelling case for Christ says author Jeff Daly
Book review: 'Spiritual Battle for the White House'
By James Lambert
In his new book entitled "The Spiritual Battle for the White House," Jeffrey Daly reminds the readers throughout the book of the founder's love of liberty. The author, who works as an independent lawyer (on the weekdays) and a pastor (on the weekend), has sprinkled the book with inspirational quotes from the likes of Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, Patrick Henry, John Hancock, Samuel Adams, and French historian Alexis de Tocqueville.
Mr. Daly makes a strong case why the White House is a symbol of liberty. He methodically reviews the 200+ year old history of the White House by saying that "for years, for decades, for two centuries, President after President often during Inauguration speeches gave honor to the Lord for His Divine Providence, for His protection, for His protection." Daly also makes the important case to the book's reader why we, as a nation, are presently experiencing a spiritual battle of enormous proportions (around the country) and how we, as Christians, can successfully deal with this troubling environment.
The book (published by Xulon Press) methodically informs the Christian community of the dangers of the apathy (with those in the Christian community) involving not only our faith in God but also our distinct need for upholding our freedoms (and constitutional rights) we have as Americans. In the later chapters of the book, Jeffrey (who is the senior pastor of the Jesus Christ Fellowship in Lake County, California) affirms the need for Christians to diligently pray, fast and worship to God for our country. He emphasizes the importance of Christians more than ever, to reach out to our communities with the good news of Jesus Christ.
