Bigotry against Christians detailed in Gary Cass' book: Christian Bashing
By James Lambert
Dr. Gary Cass' book, Christian Bashing, provides an excellent expose of how defamation of Christians and their religious beliefs have evolved over the decades. The author provides an excellent case for the need for Christians to defend their faith in an ever increasing hostile culture.
With the advent of political correctness, it's become increasingly apparent in a climate dominated by liberal ideology, that our society has become less receptive to Christian tenants and expressions of biblical morality. Dr. Cass makes a strong case of this by providing a series of well documented examples in his book.
The author also points out that the media provides a "general perception that conservative, Bible believing Christians are simple, ignorant and narrow minded." Dr. Cass provides a number of startling quotes from well known sources to illustrate these points. He also makes Christians aware of what will happen if this cultural (anti-Christian bias) continues to worsen.
The book makes a strong case for the establishment of a Christian Anti-Defamation Commission. He cites other such anti-defamation organizations that have been successful in defending their religious freedoms.
In 2007, Cass along with other supporters established the Christian Anti-Defamation Commission. The author's background includes working with the underground church in the former Soviet Union, assisting the persecuted church in the Middle East, serving as a pastor for 22 years as well as being the Executive Director for the Center for Reclaiming America for Christ in Florida.
