60 MINUTES, a tainted hour

It didn't take me long, as I began to watch 60 Minutes, regarding the "exodus of Christians from the Holy Land," that this was going to be yet another diatribe against the State of Israel. I was once again going to watch truth curdle..

Christians, along with Jews, are an endangered species in the Muslim lands of the Middle East, but they are thriving and increasing in number in Israel, the only democratic nation in that part of the world whose laws equally respect people of all races, faiths, and national origin.

Bethlehem's Christian population dropped from 70% fifty years ago to its current 15% and the West Bank's Christian population is dwindling to under 8%, soon to reach the Middle East's 5%, because of the growing threat posed by Muslim jihad and violence. Deadly attacks against Christians, their businesses, cemeteries, and churches are widespread through the Middle East, Africa and Asia (18,801 deadly attacks since 9/11).

Islam's highest religious authority,The Saudi Grand Mufti announced, "It is necessary to destroy all the churches of the region," and the purpose of 60 Minutes should have been to bring the dire situation of the Christians to the world's attention. Rather, the media hides the extent to which Islamic jihadists are destroying all signs of Christianity — erasing their very existence just as the Palestinians are erasing Israel's antiquity — and terrorizing and kidnapping women, and imprisoning and killing Christian converts from Islam. The self-dubbed "religion of peace" continues its ethnic cleansing with impunity while the world blames Israel. "A good scapegoat is nearly as welcome as a solution to the problem."

The truth is that Muslims are committing the most heinous crimes and barbarity across the world and our administration and mainstream media ignore the issues, protect Islamic totalitarianism, and continue to imperil the sufferinging victims.
