Why post-Christian Pagan America has succumbed to transgender (androgyny)

Based on an analysis of the foundational presuppositions of Mormon theology, this writer predicted in a 2013 essay entitled, "Why Mormonism will Surrender to Homosexuality," the capitulation of the Mormon Church and by extension the Boy Scouts to inclusion of practicing homosexuals. Now with passage of the Supreme Court ruling, Obergefell v. Wade and by extension the declaration that a man (Bruce Jenner) is now a woman (Caitlyn), post-Christian America has also surrendered to the pagan ideal of transgender (androgyny).

The reason for both Mormon and American acquiescence lies in one of the many crucial differences between Mormon theology and Biblical: the Genesis account of supernatural creation ex nihilo rather than Mormonism's naturalistic and evolutionary account.

Like ancient pagan sages before him, Joseph Smith taught that matter is eternal and the Mormon God, having no power to create out of nothing, merely reorganized already present matter, which has no beginning or end and cannot be destroyed:

"Since Mormons believe that the elements are eternal, it follows that they deny the ex nihilo creation." (Encyclopedia of Mormonism 1:400).

From this it follows that a mere man can transform and/or evolve into a god, as Smith explains:

"It is necessary we should understand the character and being of God and how he came to be so; for I am going to tell you how God came to be God. We have imagined and suppose that God was God from all eternity. I will refute that idea, and take away the veil, so that you may see. and that he was once a man like us; yea, that God himself, the Father of us all, dwelt on an earth, the same as Jesus Christ himself did... Here then, is eternal life – to know the only wise and true God; and you have got to learn how to be Gods yourselves, and to be kings and priest to God, the same as all Gods have done before you, namely by going from one small degree to another, and from a small capacity to a great one..." (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, 345-47)

In the Genesis account, the living, three times holy, supernatural Triune God spoke all things into existence ex-nihilo, meaning out of nothing. He is personal, self-existent, eternal, immutable, omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. He is the sovereign Lord of the universe. He is the God of all creation. He is the God who stands outside of the space-time dimension, thus creation actually began before time came to be as God spoke life, soul/spirit, matter and all else out of nothing. The living, supernatural God is the First Cause of all things. (Psalm 33:6; John 1:3; Romans 4:17; Hebrews 11:3):

"For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together." Col. 1:16, 17

In the "Pagan Temptation," Christian scholar Thomas Molnar writes that the idea that matter is eternal is a pattern of thought stretching back to the ancient Babylonians, Egyptians, and Greeks in the West and in the East to the Upanishads. In this way of thinking, everything somehow mechanically emerged, evolved, or progressed out of either eternally existing matter as the ancients and Joseph Smith taught, or in contemporary terms from out of matter spontaneously-generated by an exploding Cosmic Egg (Big Bang) and undirected evolution over millions of years as contemporary atheists affirm or by a useless god unable to create from nothing as evolutionary theists teach.

From Babylon's evolutionary account of origins, the Enuma Elish, on through to our own time, primordial matter has gone by many names. For example: divine One Substance, Logos, watery abyss, void, Omega, Quantum Void, and the Energy behind everything.

The Egyptian Sun-God Ra, for example, emerged (created himself) from out of Nu – the divine One Substance (primordial matter) and then similar to Joseph Smith's account, became god "by going from one small degree to another, and from a small capacity to a great one:"

"I came into being from primordial matter...I made all the forms under which I appeared by means of (or out of) the god-soul which I raised up out of Nu (i.e., the primeval abyss of water.)" (The Long War Against God, Dr. Henry Morris, p. 243)

In all mystical pantheist systems positing matter as "psychic energy," "spirit," or impersonal, unknowing Mind, Molnar writes that spirit is not personal. It is neither male nor female. It does not live, think or speak; it merely is. (Psalm 115:5; 135: 16) The human soul therefore is not created in the spiritual image of the living One God in Three Persons, thus it follows that humans are not persons but rather uncreated aspects or units of the evolving universe of matter and energy. Nor are they either male or female but rather two-in-ones, meaning androgynes or transgenders as they are called today.

This is naturalism, which is the belief taught by Joseph Smith and either taught or implied by evolutionary theism, quantum spirituality, New Age, Luciferianism, and transhumanism that there is neither living supernatural Holy God nor heavenly realm outside of the space-time dimension. There is only the natural dimension in process of evolution where progress means that children may choose their own race and gender:

"The state of Delaware is poised to adopt what is known as "Regulation 225." Approved both by the Delaware State Education Association and Gov. John Carney, Regulation 225 would safeguard children's "protected characteristics," such as gender, age, race, sexual orientation and gender identity." (Barbara Kay: Delaware Students Can Now Choose Their Own Race. This Should End Well" National Post, Feb. 13, 2018)

Naturalism is held in common by paganism, mystical pantheism and spiritualism and dates back to pagan antiquity and was or is taught by all non-Biblical – but more specifically, non-Genesis account (creation ex nihilo) – thought systems.

At the heart of ancient and contemporary naturalism is monism, which refers to the view that pre-existent or spontaneously generated matter is the Ultimate Substance of which the universe and all things are made, therefore as the ancient Hermetic magic formula decrees, "as above, so below," meaning 'all is one.'

In his book, "The God of Sex: How Spirituality Defines Your Sexuality," Dr. Peter Jones, an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church in America and Executive Director of truthXchange, writes that pagan monism is a,

"...mystical, unitive experience, a state in which distinctions disappear and opposites are joined. Androgyny, on a sexual level, reflects and confirms such an experience." (Ibid, p.79)

Writing during the student revolution of the 1960s, Francis Schaeffer that saw a transformation of consciousness, or closing of the heart to Jesus Christ was already permeating and overtaking the Western mindset, moving it away from the Christian ideal to the pagan model:

"Some forms of homosexuality today...are a philosophic expression...a denial of the antithesis. It has led in this case to an obliteration of the distinction between man and woman. So the male and the female as complimentary partners are finished." (The God of Sex: How Spirituality Defines Your Sexuality, Dr. Peter Jones, pp. 78-79)

Under the unitive influence of monism male and female distinctions drain into androgyny, hence the use of toddlers, older children and even babies for the sexual satisfaction of adults is not only tolerated but prized, hence the pagan sage Xenophon declared:

"I must now speak of pederasty, for it affects education." (The One and the Many, Rousas John Rushdoony, p. 73)

Now that the Supreme Court has redefined marriage to accommodate homosexual (two-in-ones) love, the use of babies and children for the sexual satisfaction of adults looms large:

"Using the same tactics used by "gay" rights activists, pedophiles have begun to seek similar status arguing their desire for children is a sexual orientation no different than heterosexual or homosexuals" Already, "Sex offender laws protecting children have been challenged in several states including California, Georgia and Iowa. Sex offenders claim the laws prohibiting them from living near schools or parks are unfair because it penalizes them for life." (That was FAST: Yesterday it was gay marriage; Now look who wants "equal rights" Ashley Edwardson, allenbwest.com, June 27, 2015

John W. Whitehead, a constitutional attorney and founder and president of The Rutherford Institute is the author of 'Battlefield America: The War on the American People.' In a well-sourced article on The Rutherford Institute, Whitehead alerts us to alarming and horrific facts about child sex-trafficking in the U.S.:

"Sex trafficking – especially the buying and selling of young girls – is the fastest growing business in organized crime (CBS Austin) and the second most-lucrative commodity traded illegally, after drugs and guns (WGBH). Why? Because, as investigative journalist Amy Fine Collins points out, it is 'more lucrative and much safer to sell malleable teens than drugs or guns. A pound of heroin or an AK-47 can be retailed once, but a young girl can be sold 10 to 15 times a day." (Child Sex Trafficking is the Fastest Growing Criminal Business in the U.S., Dr. Eowyn, The Olive Branch Report, Feb. 15, 2018)

The USSC's legalization of same sex marriage means there will be no logical end-point as to where such affective attachments could lead – transgender mating, incest, pederasty, pedophilia, sado-masochistic homosexuality, polygamy, and eventually zoophilia. And everyone will be obliged to conform:

"If you don't believe that Caitlyn Jenner is a woman, you're the worst kind of hateful. If you think a child deserves a mother and a father, you are a bigot. If you think a gender-dysphoric boy should not be treated as a girl, you're evil. If you think a man should use the men's restroom, regardless of what sex he thinks he is, you are discriminatory. If you think parents' desire to get their children counseling help for their same-sex attraction is okay, you're very dangerous. If your church teaches that homosexual sexual activity is wrong, your church is bigoted." (Is America Running Out of Patience with LGBT Activism? Glenn Stanton, Public Discourse, Feb. 13, 2018)

Since our culture is thoroughly sexualized and there are already few, if any, sexual moral standards, the generally amoral and dehumanized view of life communicated to the nation's children in nationwide school curricula via evolutionary science and obscene sex education classes is fated to descend into deeper and deeper levels of chaotic darkness.

Though heralded as a great victory for progressive forces, the Supreme Court ruling actually represents a great inversion and reversal of reality:

"Augustine in his City of God vividly describes the 5th century pagan "games" offered in honor of Tanit, the celestial "virgin" and mother of the gods. He also describes the public display of the goddess's homosexual priests. "They were seen yesterday, their hair moist, their faces covered in make-up, their limbs flaccid, their walk effeminate, wandering through the squares and streets of Carthage, demanding from the public the means to subsidize their shameful life." (The Body Politic is Queer, Dr. Peter Jones, truthxchange, June 26, 2015)

Together with Decadence Festivals, Burning Man, and Electronic Trance Festivals are contemporary versions of the decadent parades witnessed by Augustine:

" The difference is that often at the head of our parades are ordained "Christian" ministers. In some ways the apostate church is leading the culture. Indeed, it is the homosexual "theologians" who really understand the logic behind this cultural movement. Episcopal LGBTQ advocate Marie Alford-Harkey stresses the need for more bisexual-friendly churches, which celebrate sexual diversity through the mediums of preaching and worship, proposing "the Queer God who challenges the oppressive powers of heterosexual orthodoxy...[in order] to liberate God from the closet of traditional Christian thought." In other words, inclusive churches are not simply accommodating practice but developing a whole new theory of theology and community." (Dr. Jones)

Creation Ex Nihilo, the Incarnation: Repugnant to Nature Systems

"The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." John 1:14

Due to the belief that physical matter is evil, the revolutionary impact of the Christian teaching about creation ex nihilo and the Incarnation was nothing less than a scandal for ancient pagan sages just as it is for 'new' pagan evolutionary naturalists, whether "Christian," New Age or secular.

Molnar writes that it was inconceivable to nature sages that the Divine One Substance should assume materiality,

"a thought as distasteful to their contemporaries as the idea of creation ex nihilo, which meant that matter too was God's creation..." (p. 26-27)

In company with ancient pagan sages, Western evolutionary cosmogonies reject creation ex nihilo and the Incarnation. While faithful Christians adhere to the fact that Christ's birth was the result of a miraculous conception, that Mary was a virgin yet still conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 1:18), according to the Encyclopedia of Mormonism,

"Jesus Christ is not the Father of the spirits who have taken or yet shall take bodies upon this earth, for He is one of them. He is The Son, as they are sons and daughters of Elohim." (4:1676; Mormonism Research Ministry)

"Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like unto corruptible man, and to birds, and four-footed beasts, and creeping things." Romans 1:21-26, 28-29

Putting all of this together, the first great stumbling block for all ancient and modern evolutionary nature systems is that they cannot account for the ultimate origin of life. This is why contemporary naturalists such as SETI researcher Paul Davies and Francis Crick, co-discoverer of the DNA molecule, have rejected abiogenesis, the ridiculous idea that matter spontaneously generated itself from nothing, in favor of panspermia.

Panspermia is the idea that life on earth was accidentally seeded by meteorites containing the essential building blocks of life or perhaps by highly evolved extraterrestrials from deep space that for billions of years have been guiding the evolution of man. The extraterrestrial idea was favored by Arthur C. Clarke in his book, "Childhood's End" and a variation on this theme has recently been advanced by Davies, Crick, and Ralph Pudritz of McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario.

Crick however admits that panspermia only pushes the unresolvable problem out into deep space:

"This scenario still leaves open the question of who designed the designer [aliens] – how did life originally originate?" (Crick, Life Itself: Its Origin and Nature, 1981)

The second great stumbling block follows from the first: the inability to account for conscious life, more specifically, personhood, or the soul of man. This is why cognitive scientist Daniel Dennett, one of the Four Horsemen of Atheism, claims there really is no you, that soul, spirit and will are illusions caused by chemical interactions in the brain while his partner in nihilism, naturalist Tom Wolfe proclaims,

"Sorry, but your soul just died." (The Spiritual Brain: A Neuroscientist's Case for the Existence of the Soul, Beauregard and O'Leary, p. 4)

In stark contrast, the Revealed Word of God easily accounts for origin of life, conscious life and the two sexes:

"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them." Genesis 1:27, KJB

For fifteen hundred years, Christendom and then later Protestant America had followed St. Augustine (AD 354-430) in affirming that as all men are the spiritual image-bearers of the transcendent Triune God then it logically follows that each human being is a person – a trinity of being – of soul, spirit, and body:

"The essence of the human is not the body, but the soul. It is the soul alone that God made in his own image and the soul that he loves...For the sake of the soul...the Son of God came into the world...." (Incomplete Work on Matthew, Homily 25, Ancient Christian Devotional, Oden and Crosby, p. 153)

In Biblical thought, the body is inert matter organized and vitalized by the soul. Thus a human life is a soul that informs inert matter. Therefore a body without a soul is no more than a disorganized mass of cells that would quickly deconstruct. The citadel of the soul is spirit, the seat of reason, conscience, memory and will. In Christian thought, a person is a spirit and personality is the total individuality of the spirit. Without spirit there is no person. Moreover, spirit allows man to spiritually transcend the natural dimension in order to access the supernatural dimension, thereby allowing him to enter into a personal relationship with the Spirit of God. Through this relationship, man's conscience is cleansed over time, thus enabling him to more perfectly orient the manner of his existence in this world in preparation for eternity.

A third stumbling block of ancient and modern evolutionary cosmogonies is the inability to account for the two created sexes, male and female, since all life somehow emerged out of genderless physical or spiritualized matter. Thus like their ancient counterparts, all modern nature systems, so-called Christian and otherwise, are fated to give way before the demands of gender-neutral homosexuality (androgyny) or queer.

By whatever label – homosexual, gay, lesbian, man-boy-lover, transgender, drag queen, drag king, or bi-sexual – androgyny and the world's evolutionary nature systems go together like a hand and glove. Prior to Jesus Christ's earthly ministry pagan sages generally taught and practiced some form of gender-neutrality in keeping with their belief that matter is the gender-free "one substance" out of which all things emerged. But when Jesus Christ – fully man-fully God – walked this earth, nature sages came face to face with the awful Truth that the personal God really exists, and further, that He really did create just two distinct sexes, male and female.

Just as pre-flood men and post-flood nature sages and temple priests had exchanged the truth about the Holy God of Revelation for a lie (Romans 1:25-27) so have their modern "scientifically enlightened" counterparts – secular pagan and occult pantheists and their evolutionary 'Christian' counterparts throughout countless universities, colleges and seminaries,:

"...chartered with a strong commitment to orthodox Christianity, only to erode first into liberalism and ultimately to secularism. Why did this happen? There are multiple, complex reasons for the apostasy of such institutions, but one key factor is the desire of professors to be intellectually recognized in the academic world. A slavish genuflection to the latest trends in academia seduces our leaders into conformity. One apologist once described this pattern as the "treason of the intellectuals." If the secular establishment ridicules such tenets as the inspiration of the Bible, then insecure Christian professors, desperate to be accepted by their peers, quickly flee from orthodoxy, dragging the colleges, seminaries, and ultimately the churches with them. It is a weighty price to pay for academic recognition." (The Treason of the Intellectuals, R.C. Sproul, Evangelical Lap Dogs, Table Talk, Nov. 2002, p. 6)

The Fall of Man

Like pre-flood antediluvians and post-flood pagans, modern progressives and their evolutionary theist counterparts have fallen into depravity, stupidity, idolatry, nature worship and evil.

Early Church Father Athanasius reveals that pride and a haughty spirit preceded man's fall. A haughty spirit led them to disregard the supernatural things of the Holy God and seek in preference lower things here in the natural dimension.

The truth as to this evil said Athanasius,

"...is that it originates, and resides, in the perverted choice of the darkened soul "which, materialized by forgetting God," and engrossed in lower things (i.e. matter, chemicals, DNA) "makes them into gods" and thereby "descends into a hopeless depth of delusion and superstition" whereby "they ceased to think that anything existed beyond what is seen (naturalism).... so turning away and forgetting that she was made in the image of the good God...sees no longer the Word after whose likeness she is made...." (Against the Heathen, New Advent)

Ideas have consequences. For Mormonism – as with evolutionary theism and its secular pagan and pantheist permutations – the predisposing corruption resides in foundational ideations. Thus in the rejection of the supernatural Triune God and His Genesis account of creation ex nihilo resides the inability to account for the origin of life, of man's soul/spirit, immutable truth, moral absolutes, fixed meaning, and the true causes of evil in this world of suffering. (Psalm 115:4-8) With the rejection of the Incarnation comes the inability to logically account for and defend the two sexes and traditional marriage. Thus the fate of Mormonism together with evolutionary theism and its' evolutionary counterparts is to not only fall into relativism, depravity, stupidity, confusion, superstition, chaos and idolatry but to give way to the demands of unrestrained libido – including the use of children for the sexual gratification of adults. And these are the crimes against nature, said Augustine, which are the crimes,

"of the men of Sodom (and if) all nations in the world committed them they would all stand guilty of the same crime against the Law of God, which did not design men so that they should use each other this way." (Confessions of St. Augustine, p. 49)
