How to survive the insanity!
By Sharon Hughes
What's Ahead?
That's the $64,000 (or should I say trillion dollar) question, isn't it?
Seems more people have ventured into the prediction business this year than ever before, while others have flat out made declarations about what the future holds.
Barack Obama told us Change and Hope are ahead...but didn't tell the American people exactly what that change would look like. And hope? I haven't heard him talk about that since coming into office. To the contrary. He instead is issuing warnings, ie: if we don't accept his 'stimulus-spending' package, we will suffer unprecedented negative consequences.
But does this cause fear in his followers? Well, I don't know, but I do know that for some the adoration seems to be increasing as seen on Obama's recent road campaign to persuade the American people to support the package:

What do you think?
In the meantime, CNN proudly banners the 'End of an Era.' While Newsweek declares, "We Are All Now Socialists."
Others with more proven predictive reputations suggest that we will indeed accept socialism in America because of increased economic 'pain.'
These are serious claims. What are we to believe? What can we do while our government stears our ship into dangerous waters?
Well, first of all take what is happening seriously. And secondly, make sure your house is in order. While I am certainly no expert on economic matters, may I suggest some common sense truths that we need to embrace, perhaps as never before, during these insane times?
Don't panic. Hold steady. Wait.
Use wisdom in finances. Plan. Save.
Don't rely on government to fix things.
I can't control what is happening, but I can make my voice heard.
Focus on the 'constants.'
'Constants' such as:
No matter how tough times get, they don't last forever.
Life is more than things.
Truth wins in the end.
There's good things happening too.
Prayer works.
While none of us at Changing Worldviews and WOMANTalk claim to have a 'crystal ball' to know the future, we have continued our annual tradition of sharing on the show what we see ahead for the year based on hours of research and experiencial knowledge of reliable, proven experts in the arenas we address, such as on the Middle East, Israel, the geo-political landscape, and the United States. (You can find these shows in our Broadcast Archives).
Where is the hope? Well, I believe one place it can be found is in this: tough times have a way of 'waking' people up. And our nation clearly needs a wake-up call, to turn back to the proven 'constants' that prosper a nation, and individuals. Honesty in place of corruption. Truth instead of lies. True compassion instead of greed. Service instead of self-aggrandizement. Faith in place of fear. And God on the throne, not man.
If you're reading this, you are likely already awake. So, let's go shake up the rest!
