Cunning Alinskyite Obama ridicules his "war on religion" at Correspondents' Dinner
By Michael Gaynor
Obama is a secular extremist who hopes to continue to promote the secular extremist agenda in a second term, the religious heritage and First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States be damned.
President Obama at the White House Correspondents Dinner, April 28, 2012: "In my first term, we ended the war in Iraq; in my second term, I will win the war on Christmas."
That's Alinskyite Obama ridiculing his War on Religion, using the cover of that dinner.
Obama is a disciple of Saul Alinsky, the radical who told Playboy shortly before he died that he preferred hell to heaven and then got what he said he wanted.
NPR, January 30, 2009: "You may not recognize his name at first, but Saul Alinsky served as the inspiration behind President Barack Obama's initiative to become a community organizer in Chicago.... Alex Cohen talks with Alinsky biographer Sanford Horwitt about his book Let Them Call Me Rebel: Saul Alinsky His Life and Legacy and the man." The audio is available at www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=100057050.
Obama's War on Religious Liberty, exemplified by his HHS insurance mandate, really was to be expected.
It needs to be conducted stealthily, since it's still not a political winner in the United States, so Obama implicitly denied that it is what it is.
An exemption for the Amish is okay by Obama, because he thinks that the Amish do not pose a political threat to him and his plan to "fundamentally transform" America.
But the pro-abortion people are so critical to Obama that the HHS mandate was issued even before Election Day 2012 and so Team Obama has had to deal with the outraged reaction.
Its first tactic was to try to make the issue about access to contraception and, ironically, Rush Limbaugh helped by making a law student a national distraction by vulgarly dismissing her.
The real issue is religious liberty, not contraception or Sandra Fluke's sexual history, and confusion, distraction and diversion work for, not against, Obama.
The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) was not intimidated by Team Obama and has stayed on target.
The USCCB is urging people to protest the mandate (www.usccb.org/issues-and-action/religious-liberty/conscience-protection/).
For example, the USCCB is suggesting sending a comment to this effect:
"The Administration's 'advance notice' does not correct the fundamental problems in its contraceptive mandate.
"Both the coercive mandate itself, and its extremely narrow exemption for 'religious employers,' remain unchanged. Almost all private health plans, even those sponsored by many religious organizations, will be required to pay for or facilitate coverage for sterilization and all FDA-approved 'contraceptives,' including drugs that can cause abortion. This coverage will be provided 'automatically' to employees and their dependents, including minors, whether the employees want the coverage or not. Employers will have no right to act on their values when they provide health coverage. Employees, and those who provide or purchase health insurance outside the employer context, will have no freedom to opt out.
"I urge you to allow all organizations and individuals to offer, sponsor and obtain health coverage that does not violate their moral and religious convictions."
That's deadly news for Team Obama, so it pulled out the Alinsky playbook, Rules for Radicals, for guidance.
Rule 5: Ridicule is man's most potent weapon. It's hard to counterattack ridicule, and it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage.
Rule 6: A good tactic is one your people enjoy. "If your people aren't having a ball doing it, there is something very wrong with the tactic."
At the White House Correspondents' dinner, where the speeches are supposed to be joke-filled, Obama ridiculed the reality that he is at war with religion, by purportedly joking that he would win that war in his second term.
Obama is a secular extremist who hopes to continue to promote the secular extremist agenda in a second term, the religious heritage and First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States be damned.
This June we will learn whether that HHS mandate will be stricken by the United States Supreme Court together with the Obamacare insurance mandate.
On Election Day 2012 we will learn whether Ohio is "God's country," or lost.
