Ann Coulter to Laura Ingraham: Mitt Romney, not Newt Gingrich

Axelrod must be salivating at the thought of the twice divorced Newt Gingrich as Obama's opponent, trying to make his third wife America's next First Lady. Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky would be amused that they had paved the way by their own scandalous behavior.
On November 9, 2011, Ann Coulter appeared on Laura Ingraham's radio show and warned her that Newt Gingrich is not a good choice in the crusade to stop President Obama from being re-elected.
It's a matter of electability, not political positions, and Gingrich has his personal life choices to blame.
Coulter reminded Ingraham that America's only divorced President was Ronald Reagan, his first wife had left him and Reagan's marital history wasn't a big deal during the 1980 presidential campaign.
Coulter also noted that Mitt Romney's endorsement by her personal favorite, Governor Chris Christie of New Jersey, was "a feather in his cap."
Unlike young conservatives like Erick Erickson (36), older ones like Coulter (49) are not about to keep the Obamas in the White House by letting the perfect become the enemy of the good.
It's a matter of experience, not intellect or bad intention.
Coulter dismissed former Speaker Newt Gingrich as boring while discussing him on air with Ingraham and referred to an article that she was going to release at 6 PM.
That article, titled "David Axelrod's Pattern of Sexual Misbehavior" (www.anncoulter.com/columns/2011-11-09.html), not only challenges the sexual assault and harassment allegations recently made against Herman Cain, but also makes this critical point: Obama campaign strategist David Axelrod has used the sexual misbehavior of Obama's opponents to get Obama elected.
Coulter: "...it's curious that all the sexual harassment allegations against Cain emanate from Chicago: home of the Daley machine and Obama consigliere David Axelrod."
Coulter proceeded to set forth Axelrod's "history of smearing political opponents by digging up claims of sexual misconduct against them."
Coulter:
"...as extensively detailed in my book 'Guilty: Liberal "Victims' and Their Assault on America,' the only reason Obama became a U.S. senator — allowing him to run for president — is that David Axelrod pulled sealed divorce records out of a hat, first, against Obama's Democratic primary opponent, and then against Obama's Republican opponent.
"One month before the 2004 Democratic primary for the U.S. Senate, Obama was way down in the polls, about to lose to Blair Hull, a multimillionaire securities trader.
"But then The Chicago Tribune — where Axelrod used to work — began publishing claims that Hull's second ex-wife, Brenda Sexton, had sought an order of protection against him during their 1998 divorce proceedings."
Result: "Hull's substantial lead just a month before the primary collapsed with the nonstop media attention to his divorce records. Obama sailed to the front of the pack and won the primary. Hull finished third with 10 percent of the vote."
Why did Obama win the Senate seat after winning the Democrat primary?
Coulter:
"Luckily for Axelrod, Obama's opponent in the general election had also been divorced.
"The Republican nominee was Jack Ryan, a graduate of Dartmouth and Harvard law and business schools, who had left his lucrative partnership at Goldman Sachs to teach at an inner-city school on the South Side of Chicago.
"But in a child custody dispute some years earlier, Ryan's ex-wife, Hollywood sex kitten Jeri Lynn Ryan, had alleged that, while the couple was married, Jack had taken her to swingers clubs in Paris and New York.
"Jack Ryan adamantly denied the allegations. In the interest of protecting their son, he also requested that the records be put permanently under seal.
"Axelrod's courthouse moles obtained the 'sealed' records and, in no time, they were in the hands of every political operative in Chicago. Knowing perfectly well what was in the records, Chicago Tribune attorneys flew to California and requested that the court officially 'unseal' them — over the objections of both Jack and Jeri Ryan."
The records were unsealed, Ryan quickly dropped out of the race, Alan Keyes rushed to Illinois to contest Obama instead, and Obama won with a 43 percent margin.
Coulter also sarcastically noted that Obama proved to be beatable when his opponent was not divorced: Obama lost "a congressional race to Bobby Rush. (In a disastrous turn of events, Rush was not divorced.)"
Coulter's bottom line: "Axelrod destroyed the only two men who stood between Obama and the Senate with illicitly obtained, lurid allegations from their pasts."
Coulter's conclusion: "This time, Obama's little helpers have not only thrown a bomb into the Republican primary, but are hoping to destroy the man who deprives the Democrats of their only argument in 2012: If you oppose Obama, you must be a racist."

Axelrod DOES NOT want Mitt Romney running against Obama because Romney is scandal-free. He's been married to his wife Ann for 42 years and, as a faithful Mormon, he will be sober when that 3 A.M. phone call is made.
Rick Santorum is a happily married conservative Republican presidential aspirant too. I generally share his views, but the polls show that he won't be nominated and America's plight is too severe not to be realistic.
On February 1, 2008, Santorum enthusiatically endorsed Romney for President (www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/former-us-senator-rick-santorum-r-pa-endorses-governor-mitt-romney-56763867.html), as follows: "In a few short days, Republicans from across this country will decide more than their party's nominee. They will decide the very future of our party and the conservative coalition that Ronald Reagan built. Conservatives can no longer afford to stand on the sidelines in this election, and Governor Romney is the candidate who will stand up for the conservative principles that we hold dear. Governor Romney has a deep understanding of the important issues confronting our country today, and he is the clear conservative candidate that can go into the general election with a united Republican party."
What Santorum said when he was not running for President himself was true then and is true now.
If fellow conservatives like Santorum now flip flop on Romney, the beneficiary will be stealth socialist Obama.
