America not surprised while Brussels mourned terrorist attack --- Obama danced

The nation and the world was certainly not surprised while Brussels mourned terrorist attack the president decided to watch baseball and tango across the dance floor. To say that he is disengaged from reality is an understatement. Obama has developed this into an art form over the past seven plus years as he winds down his failed presidency.

After the Brussels terrorist attacks, when it came to being presidential or assuring the nation or even the world that he has a steady firm control on terrorism he opted out. Instead he decided to first take time to watch a baseball game then the next day tango on the dance floor in Buenos Aires.

After the ISIS terrorist attacks in Paris last fall, the president led from behind with a disingenuous comment that perhaps the optics of his insincere response to the scores of deaths and injuries were a bit off. He even reluctantly admitted that the ISIS inspired terrorist attacks which resulted in 14 deaths in San Bernardino was indeed an act of terrorism instead of "Workplace" violence. There is something seriously off kilter with this president.

There are liberal defenders of this type of disengagement being practiced by the president is troubling. Take for instance Fox News' The Five's cohost Juan Williams. His recent persistent apologies for the president's inexcusable behavior borders on the nonsensical. He defended the president even though the optics of a president devoting only 51 seconds in his initial remarks about the Islamic extremist attacks at Brussel's airport and subway were sophomoric. Williams contended that Obama was actually appearing presidential and even likened him to President's Bush.

The marginalization of the presidency has reached a new low. Just when one may have surmised that this perpetrator-in-chief could not damage his image as the current occupant of the Oval Office any further, he pushes the envelope of mediocrity even further. Image how world leaders have felt over the years at having to wait for the president to sound the alarm and rally the nation and the world against the Jihadist terrorists. Unfortunately, that sound and alarm would never come.

Instead, much like the Fort Hood Islamic terrorist attack which Obama's administration took several years to admit it was indeed an act of terrorism, the man in charge of the White House called it workplace violence. What he was doing early in his administration was putting the nation and the world on notice that he was erasing the threat and the very naming of the threat of extreme Islamic terrorism from ever being uttered or written.

Of course Al Qaeda and ISIS did not take verbal or written cues from Obama and have unleashed a killing spree all across the Middle East of Biblical proportions. The reign of terror has reached across Europe, Australia, Africa and the United States and have left tens of thousands of innocent victims in their horrific wake. Meanwhile, Obama has appeared nonplussed and when American freelance journalist James Foley became the first American beheaded by ISIS on August 19, 2014 Obama he barely reacted and seemed somewhat detached when he announced it and then continued on with his vacation golf outing.

So why would Americans or even world leaders ever consider that this president would want or desire to enter the real world where real barbaric atrocities do exist, when his imaginary world is more comfortable for him? This is a president who spends hundreds of millions of dollars on vacations with his family in tow, all of course on the public's dime.

So when it comes to optics, Obama has a nearly pre-packaged response ready for his many detractors. It does not matter, then, now or for the next few months left on his presidency, so get over it.

When Obama stressed that he understands the fear caused by the terrorist murders at the subway and the airport. He defended his inappropriate actions by stating that ISIS should not be allowed to disrupt American lives. That is what get over it means to him.

Of course that included him as well, as he watched baseball with a dictator and tangoed across the floor. It must be tough to seem so disconnected from his role as a leader. But he does score a perfect ten for exceling at failing in that role.
