The Democrats are coming after our powder
By Bryan Fischer
We as the American people have freedom in our very DNA, in large measure because we are a Christian nation. (This is also, by the way, why Muslim nations will never enjoy anything resembling liberty — Islam is by its very nature a religion of repression and tyranny.)
The verse that was frequently on the lips of the Founders during our quest for independence was 2 Corinthians 3:17: "Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom."
The American people will never stand for the government takeover of health care. They just won't put up with it. This is simply a bridge too far, and it will not be allowed. It ain't gonna happen, no matter what the president and his fascist-oriented friends do.
What ignited the quest for independence in 1774 was the Crown coming after our ammunition. The "shot heard round the world" was fired when British regulars tried to disarm the citizens of Massachusetts by depriving them of powder and ball.
The American people have allowed themselves to be bullied, picked on and taxed to death by the central government since the days of Franklin Roosevelt. But like anybody who gets picked on long enough, we've had it up to here and realize it's time to fight back.
What form our new quest for independence will take remains to be seen. Our strategy must always be ballots, not bullets. But if the president and the Speaker force ObamaCare on the American people, we will, in one way or another, hear the next shot heard round the world.
The Democrats are now the ones coming after our powder, and we're not going to put up with it in 2010 any more than we did in 1774. It will not happen.
