TO PARAPHRASE a post found on Facebook, How to signal your virtue:

  1. Demand social justice to impress others with your moral excellence.

  2. Engage in piling on.* Recognize the power of the woke pack.

  3. Engage in ramping up*. Try to outdo others by appearing even more moral than thou.

  4. Engage in trumping up*. Call out moral transgressions even where there are none.

  5. Attack those who question "progressive" orthodoxy.

  6. Ignore equity, diversity and inclusion when it comes to alternative opinions.

  7. Ignore the social damage you create by posing as morally superior.

  8. Display anger and outrage to emphasize your righteousness.

  9. Discriminate against anyone deemed to be privileged, including those with the wrong ancestry or DNA.

  10. Correct the wrongs of the past by calling for new wrongs in the present two wrongs make it right).

"These kids are leaving high school and going to college and they couldn't fill in four words"! Four words! I literally broke down In the middle of class.

"This is only day two, and I have seniors who simply can't read and seniors who can't write. They can reason, they have the ability to defend their reasoning if it's talking to their homeboy, but applying that to a written text, two paragraphs, and they couldn't do it."

As teachers demand more pay and better benefits, illiterate kids are graduating from high school. What happened?

PPS: IF YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND THERE'S A PROBLEM, YOU PROBABLY WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND THE SOLUTION.
