You'll have to "excuse" the snowflakes you know

- poem excerpt from last week's column
"A liberal education without the Scriptures must be, in any Christian country, a contradiction in terms." – Thomas Arnold (1795-1842)
THE CODE OF THE CHILD:
- "The communist formation of the young generation is a valued aspiration of the state, the family, the teachers, the political organizers, and the mass organizations that act in order to foster in youth the ideological values of communism."
- "The society and the State watch to ascertain that all persons that come in contact with the child during his educational process constitute an example for the development of his communist personality."
- "Society and the State work for the efficient protection of youth against all influences contrary to their communist formation."
- "Upon completion of primary schooling young people may continue their education at pre university centers, vocational schools, or other specialized schools, on the basis of their academic achievement, political attitude, and social conduct . . Educators have a high mission in the development of the communist personality."
- "The State grants special attention to the teaching of Marxism-Leninism due to its importance in the ideological formation and political culture of the young students."
- "Children and young people prepare for active military service making their own the principles of proletarian internationalism and combative solidarity."
- "No rights granted by this constitution can be exercised against the existence of and objectives of the communist state. The infraction of this article is punishable."
SOUNDS LIKE THE IDEOLOGY OF OUR TYPICAL UNIVERSITY SPEECH CODE TODAY, DOESN'T IT?
If anyone tries to tell you that Cuba has a constitution just like we do, show them the words above; they are from Cuba's laws and "constitution." Our young college students have been exposed to the same kind of ideology for years, but the "Educators" just use different words for it. Such as "Progressivism"! They used to say Liberalism, but that became a swear word in America quite a few years ago. Progressivism sounds so much more, well, "progressive" (never mind the actual ramifications or results!).
So what you see is what you get: Riots in, of all places, Thomas Jefferson's hometown – a manufactured riot if there ever was one. Its planners and programmers certainly weren't taken by "surprise." Nor is the reaction of the news media surprising. The news urinalists swarm around the President like stinging bees, but he keeps swatting them away. Try as they may to shake his supporters, the nagging and ragging by the media only cements their support for him (never mind weak-kneed GOP office holders who run for the tall grass).
BY THE WAY, I think Isaiah predicted the change from "liberal" to "progressive" thousands of years ago: "The vile person shall no more be called liberal for the vile person will speak villainy, and his heart shall practice hypocrisy . . . until the Spirit be poured out upon us from on High."
There's certainly enough hypocrisy on many sides. The car-terrorist is accused of being a Trump supporter, but the organizer of the neo-Nazi rally has been said to have been a Hillary supporter (not to mention that Hillary was a supporter of Senator Byrd, a KKK member). And "Nazi" is the acronym for National Socialism, Communism's first-cousin on the LEFT. The times we live in get curiouser and curiouser.
P.S. "The condition of man is a condition of war of everyone against everyone." – Thomas Hobbes (1588-1679)
With their ragging and nagging, the Intelligentsia are trying to turn the clock back to the 1500s! It's time for our so-called "smartest generation ever" to wake up before it's too late to escape their fate! The "Resistance" never gave Abraham Lincoln a chance either, and how'd that work out for us? Let that be a warning for you, and take it to heart!
PPS: There is an argument ongoing as to whether Academe is dumbing our kids down on purpose – or whether it just SEEMS that way.
I'm sure our college snowflakes would take that as a mean-spirited statement. So be it. I know I sound like a grumpy old fart, young man, but if you think you're so smart, here's a test for you:
What's the difference between abstract and abstruse? Or what's difference between obstreperous and obtuse?
NOT A CLUE? THAT SOUNDS LIKE A TYPICAL QUESTION ON AN EIGHTH GRADE EXAM IN A COUNTRY SCHOOL OUT IN THE PLAINS IN THE 1880S!
Get the point yet? If not, don't try to lecture us old-timers about American history. At the time of the American Revolution, we had two problems: (1) Some people were slaves, but (2) everybody else was a slave to King George of England.
The Founders simply chose to tackle those two problems one-at-a-time, and the latter problem was the priority at that point in time (but they made provisions for the amendment of the Constitution that ultimately freed the slaves).
BTW, Lincoln was between a Rock and a hard place, because there was a counter-revolution going on before he was even sworn into office. I heard there was vandalism at the Lincoln Memorial this week, and some "social justice" warriors advocate tearing down the Jefferson Memorial, and changing the name of Washington DC.
And those are the "TOLERANT" ONES? The vile "liberal" ones.
MORE TO COME.
