A result of rejecting God – socialism

"Those who will not be governed by God will be ruled by tyrants." – William Penn, Founder of Pennsylvania, 1668

In America, 2016, Penn's statement is resoundingly true. A majority in America have decided we don't want to be ruled by God. We decided our governmental leaders do not have to be godly, righteous men, nor must our government operate by the godly principles upon which our nation was established. Once such a decision is made, some other force must fill that vacuum. Thus, a consequence of rejecting God is socialism.

Do not be fooled: America isn't falling into socialism. America is already a socialist nation. People like leftist presidential candidates from the Democrat Party just want to take us further. The next step after socialism is communism. And sadly, one of the presidential candidates is espousing communist principles that are being readily devoured by masses of people – particularly our youth. Again, remove God, and then something/someone will take His place.

Some people reading these words may be aghast. How, you ask, can this be possible? We are a Christian nation. The answer is that we were once a Christian nation. We were founded on Christian principles. But we have abandoned this belief system.

Yes, polls say that a majority of people still claim to be Christian. Note that the percentage has dropped about ten percent in the last decade. Further, look around you. What do you see, I mean, really see? If we are living in a Christian nation, inhabited by a majority of practicing, Bible-believing, Jesus-following Christians, why is it that even TV commercials should carry an "R" rating? We have simply reached a state in America where, like people in Scripture, we don't even know how to blush. (Jer. 6:15)

I submit that most of this so-called majority of Christians are either deceived, or are RINO Christians – that is, Christian in name only. And as a mentor of mine once told me when I was a new Christian: One can call himself a car and sleep in the garage at night, but that doesn't make him a car.

The fact is that we have been blatantly rejecting God from our lives, culture, and government since the 1950's. And whenever a nation and its people reject God, there are always consequences. Always.

Is it possible that America is now both a post-Christian and post-Constitution nation? If we are a nation that no longer acknowledges the existence of God Almighty and His authority, we are a secular nation. There is an ongoing and successful attempt to remove God from each and every area of public life. And Americans have gone along with nary a whimper. There is still a small number who refuse to be silenced. These people are slandered, mocked, ridiculed, and rejected for the most part – and sadly, many times from other so-called Christians. In today's climate, only a very strong few can withstand such attacks. They, I contend, are the remnant of God's people.

Considering our form of government, the Founding Fathers were excruciatingly clear as to what was necessary to maintain our "republican" form of government. Their writings are still accessible from libraries and many online websites devoted to preserving our heritage. That is, until revisionists decide knowledge of our roots is too dangerous to allow for We the People. And revise, the Left is indeed busy doing. Ask concerned parents who have been battling with schools for years.

But there is plenty of written proof that 1984-like antics are happening through the re-writing of history books. One article from the Patriot Update website is the Left continues to revise American history http://patriotupdate.com/the-left-continues-to-revise-americas-history/.

Another article appeared in the Wall Street Journal this past summer, Bye, bye, American history http://www.wsj.com/articles/bye-bye-american-history-1433978690. Perhaps we should ask why it is so important to change history.

Two things we have learned from our Community Organizer-in-Chief during the past seven years: To remake a nation (fundamentally transform America), you first have to tear it down. (Basic principles of community organizing) Knowing this, we can then fully understand the following statements. Russian philosopher Alexander Solzhenitzyn said, "To destroy a people you must first sever their roots." Then consider Patrick Buchanan's statement, "To create a 'new people,' the agents of our cultural revolution must first create a new history; and that project is well advanced."

Our turning to socialism began as far back as 1913 with President Woodrow Wilson. From Mark Levin's book, Ameritopia, we read that Wilson's governing objective was to "centralize and consolidate power in the federal government and redefine the relationship between it and the individual," a relationship where "the individual lives to serve the body politic and, in turn, the politicians who oversee it." Hmm...Doesn't it feel increasingly like government is the master, and we're the servants? Levin goes on to explain how Wilson argued that the federal courts were not bound by the Constitution, and that the "purpose of the judiciary is to sanction, if not clear the path for, the extraconstitutional actions of the federal Leviathan, especially the president." And we wondered how the courts, particularly the Supreme Court, have become so powerful.

The next truly major moves into socialism came with Roosevelt's New Deal, and Johnson's Great Society. With each program came a major confiscation of We the People's hard-earned money that would then be turned over to others "less fortunate." (BTW...this is socialism, a redistribution of the wealth.) And we've only gone downhill from there. Yet, with the massive welfare state created by these socialist icons, is America better off? Poverty may have been reduced a few percentage points. But America is now over $19 trillion in debt. Many experts speculate that number will reach the $21 trillion mark by the time Obama leaves the White House. Ha! What a bunch of great ideas. Statistics may say the poor are less poor, yet nearly 100 million people are unemployed, and the nation is bankrupt!

The fact that leftist progressives are the ones who idolize FDR and Johnson says it all. These people comprise the Democrat Party, which should more aptly be called the Socialist Party. With our newest socialist/communist president, we have watched another huge grab of money from We the People through the Obamacare debacle. The Federal Government has the power to take increasing amounts of money from us, to which we have no defense. Obviously, it is now done through taxes. There are no actual guns pointed at our heads. Yet. But have you ever considered what happens when the masses finally decide they've had enough? Our ancestors threw a Tea Party, and there was a revolution. With how our government has been arming itself, can any of us be sure we won't face the barrel of a gun in the near future? Or, if our government feels it can take from us however much money they want, whenever they want, that they won't finally decide they want it all? Guns again? And communism? Who knows what the tipping point is, if there is a tipping point. It seems that thus far, We the People have willingly (for the most part) gone down that socialist road.

Not all citizens are leftists, or pro-socialism. According to a July 2015 CBS poll, 46 percent of Americans are democrats. Does this mean they all support a socialist agenda? Who knows? The strongest evidence that can be offered is Barack Obama. One didn't have to be a rocket scientist to foresee that inevitable disaster, and yet, he is the president.

Also, consider these results from a 2015 Gallup poll about whether Americans would vote for a socialist president. Of those polled, 47 percent said they would vote for a socialist. The breakdown was: 59 percent democrats, 26 percent republicans, and 49 percent independents. How's that for a wake-up call?!

If America is both post-Christian, and post-Constitution, and there is ample evidence that this is the case, then our future is not looking very positive. Can any of it be changed? Only God knows. But then, America, for the most part, has rejected God. We have come to believe we are wise enough to properly manage our lives, our country, and control our destiny. Uhh, how's that working out for everyone? We have either totally deceived ourselves, or allowed others to deceive us. And look at the catastrophic mess we're in, essentially of our own making! Remember, we may not have individually caused various decisions to be made, actions to be taken, but we voted for the people who brought the disaster upon us. And yes, we did it by choosing leaders who did not fear God.

The only answer is for Americans to do a drastic 180-degree turn back to God. The Bible says, "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land." (2 Ch. 7:14 NIV) This means that those who truly are Christians must stop the going-along-to-get-along business with the rest of the heathens in this secular nation, truly repent of our own sins, and fervently intercede for our nation. True Christians must also come out from among them and be separate. (2 Cor. 6:17) We can't just say "I'm sorry" one day, and then continue doing all the sinful things of the world. This is serious business we're signing up for, and only serious Christians need apply.

We already know that one consequence of rejecting God is socialism. Will we continue down this disastrous road and become a communist nation? It's all about choices – individual and collective. For now, we still have access to the solution through the Lord Jesus Christ. I pray we start making wiser choices, starting with surrendering to Him. To anyone willing to hear...
