"Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin condemns any people." (Prov. 14:34 NIV)

America is no longer a righteous people seeking God. We are instead a nation guilty of rampant sin, including homosexuality – the one sin that, when generally accepted as normal by society, indicates a nation is about to be destroyed. Overall, we are a nation of depravity, delusion, and soon destruction. These signs indicate we are now a post-Christian.

What's happened to bring us to this point? We were established by god-fearing Christians, for the purpose of practicing and furthering the Christian faith. There is still ample documentation to support this, that is, until the revisionists erase it. Today, however, we have become a nation of heathens who no longer honor the One True God of the Bible, and His Son, Jesus Christ. In fact, as a nation, we not only don't fear or honor God, but now boldly mock Him in almost all that we say and do.

This rejection and mocking, and the subsequent drastic decline began in 1962 when the U.S. Supreme Court removed prayer from the public schools. Since that time, God has been systematically kicked out of virtually all public places by government. Our "representatives" in government have become evil and have perverted the system. Sadly, most people accept what government says, not God, as the ultimate law, the arbiter of our fate. Thus, the government is a form of God's judgment upon us. Perhaps it's true that we get the government we deserve? Nonetheless, while government has been busy usurping God's authority, God Himself has been lifting His hand of protection from, and gradually backing away from us. After all, if we don't want Him around, He will honor our wishes.

Unrestrained moral decay is the result. Families are crumbling because of divorce. Schools are nothing more than government indoctrination centers. Truth isn't taught in schools because the wise men running government schools don't believe in right and wrong. Everything is relative – whatever we think or feel is reality, our truth. This thinking is the basis of anarchy, which is also overtaking society.

There is no longer a coming together for the collective good of society. Instead, we are now an "It's all about me" people. Selfish...self-absorbed...proud...arrogant...If we weren't so conditioned to accept the moral decay as "normal," we would understand that it is part of God's judgment upon us. But, like the proverbial frog in the pot of water that's being gradually warmed-up so we won't jump out, we think "it's all good." We continue to eat, drink, and be merry, not realizing that one day soon, we are going to die.

So what does the Bible say about such a society. Remember that Solomon said, "What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun." (Ecc. 1:9 NIV)

In the book of Romans, the Apostle Paul explains societal decline:
"For although they knew God, they neither glorified Him as God nor gave thanks to Him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles." (Rom. 1: 21-23 NIV)
When a people, either individuals or a nation, reject God, something will take God's place. We begin to either worship the creation, or build for ourselves other idols. And yes, money and fame can be among those idols. Does America sound like a nation of idolaters? Yes. In the Ten Commandments, which have also been banned from the public square, the very first of the commandments is to have no other gods but God Almighty.

Furthermore, we have also forgotten to be thankful for what God has done for us. Does America sound ungrateful? Very much so.

Paul then begins to tell of the consequences of our actions: "Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator – who is forever praised. Amen." (Rom. 1:24-25 NIV)

The 1960's was the beginning of a major rebellion against not only God, but ALL authority. This move was marked by sit-ins, protests, and violence, perpetrated by people who now sit in the powerful seats of government, industry, and education. Back in the 60's, hippies called such people "the man." Now, those hippies are the man. Think of people like Hillary Clinton, or Barack Obama's terrorist mentors, Bill Ayers and wife Bernardine Dohrn. Uhh, it's like the inmates running the asylum!

Paul continues to explain: "God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion." (Rom. 1: 26-27 NIV)

The 1960's also marked the beginning of a sexual revolution that has morphed into inconceivable proportions. Seriously, it is difficult to fathom the levels of depravity caused by this cancerous revolution. But then, God gave us over. We want what we want, and God has honored our requests.

Paul concludes that, "Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, He gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done." (Rom: 1: 28 NIV)

When we begin thinking we are so wise, we are falling for delusions and lies, either conjured up by our own futile thinking, or whispered in our ears by Satan, the father of lies.

The following list characterizes the nation that rejects God:
"They are filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless."(Rom. 1: 28-32 NIV)
Dear friends, this is a picture American society. We proudly flaunt our godlessness, and yet expect Him to somehow bless us. Insanity! Arrogance!

And finally, we're told: "Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them." (Rom. 1:32 NIV) Dear friends, this passage tells us that not only our practice of all these ungodly things are worthy of death, but so also is our support and approval of them.

The Apostle Paul was led by God to warn the Romans, and all other readers, about the danger of rejecting God. As a Christian nation, we once understood these truths. We once honored and respected God and ALL of His counsel. So now, our society is a moral cesspool (depravity) that we somehow think of as "normal" (delusion). The pillars our society – family, religion, government, and business – are all in the process of being totally destroyed. America is teetering on rotted foundational pillars. Total collapse is imminent.

As the first chapter of Romans tells us, God allows these things to happen to us when we reject Him. It is a form of judgment – that of abandonment. God has not yet allowed our total destruction because of the remnant of those who still truly honor Him. As God told Abraham, He would spare the city (Sodom) for even ten righteous people. (Gen. 18:32) In the end, however, only Lot, his wife, and two daughters escaped the destruction.

In a teaching video, "the Implosion of America," Dr. Robert Jeffress, senior pastor of the First Baptist Church in Dallas, TX discusses our demise. He describes the process of demolishing buildings called imploding – as opposed to exploding. He says there is a pause, or a lull, between the initial pushing of the destruct button and the actual activation of the explosives and subsequent fall of the targeted building. Dr. Jeffress contends, and I agree with him, that the destruct button has already been pushed by Almighty God. We are simply experiencing the lull/pause before our walls fall inwardly upon us.

Our days as a nation are numbered. Have we passed the point of no return? My heart tells me we have. What say you? We must understand that God has always responded the same way, generation after generation, nation after nation...If we seek and Honor Him, He will bless us and guide us. For forty years in the desert, the Israelites were fed, clothed, and instructed by God. Instead, they grumbled, complained, rejected God and His instructions, and chose to do their own thing. (Sound familiar?) God finally canceled their trip to the Promised Land. Even God has His limits. So, if God punishes His chosen people, the Jews, why won't He punish us?

While depravity, delusion, and destruction clearly mark a post-Christian America, God can still delay judgment upon us. In the book of Jonah, Nineveh was marked for destruction by God, but when the people repented of their sins, God relented for a while. Repentance and returning to God are our only hope. This means true repentance and sorrow over our actions, not just being sorry for getting caught. We have to confess our sins and STOP SINNING. America, can we do it? To anyone willing to hear....
