America: The horrible consequences of rejecting God

There's an old Toyota commercial that says, "You asked for it, you got it, Toyota." We Americans have been increasingly asking God to leave us alone so we can go our own way and do our own thing. God is honoring our wishes. What we apparently don't understand though, is that there are consequences for our choices...horrible, catastrophic consequences.

For at least the past 60 years, we Americans have been steadily pushing God out of our personal and corporate life. Although Americans still claim in large numbers to be Christian, there is evil that is forcing anti-Christian laws upon us in the attempt to silence us. People quoting Scripture, or using the Name of Jesus for anything other than cursing, are accused of using hate speech – particularly when addressing issues such as homosexuality.

Well, as usual, this writer is going to use the Bible and the Name of Jesus, the Name Above ALL Names, in this article. And I am NOT a hater, unless we are speaking of sin, which I do hate. What's more important, however, is that God hates sin.

And if He hates it, I don't want to do it, or promote it. And when we reject God, we open ourselves up to Satan and all the evils he promotes. The simple truth is that there are just two forces in the world: Good and evil. Whether individually or corporately, we choose which force we will live under. And sadly, America is choosing to live under evil. Obviously, not everyone chooses this course, but America has crossed over an invisible line of demarcation, where evil has overtaken the good. Therefore, we all will suffer the consequences, since the Bible says that God sends rain on the just and the unjust. (Matt: 5:45)

In America, much of the decision-making about our nation's course is being ripped away from us by government. We grumble, gripe, and complain, but are ultimately responsible for putting in power the same people who are ripping-away our freedoms.

President James Garfield commented on this topic, saying:

"Now more than ever before, the people are responsible for the character of their Congress. If that body be ignorant, reckless and corrupt, it is because the people tolerate ignorance, recklessness and corruption. If it be intelligent, brave and pure, it is because the people demand these high qualities to represent them in the national legislature.... If the next centennial does not find us a great nation ... it will be because those who represent the enterprise, the culture, and the morality of the nation do not aid in controlling the political forces."

Over 100 years ago, President Garfield foretold the demise of our country. But then, thousands of years ago, God foretold of our fate in His Holy Scriptures. "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord." (Ps. 33:12 NIV) Perhaps we should consider what happens to the nation whose God is NOT the Lord God of the Bible. Hmmm....

Dear friends, there are things happening here in America that indicate we are beginning to see God's wrath poured out on us for our rejection of Him. While studying and researching, I'm sometimes amazed there isn't outrage expressed from multitudes of citizens and pulpits because of what's happening to our nation. But then, I am reminded that in the Last Days, which we are definitely living in, people won't want to hear God's Truth. Scripture says, "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears." (2 Tim. 4:3 KJV) And indeed, when there are preachers like Joel Osteen, who the MSM calls America's Pastor, it is no wonder why there's not an ear-shattering outcry against the abominations being perpetrated upon the nation.

And for those of you who love Joel Osteen, please understand I am commenting on what he teaches, not his character. He is an incredibly loveable, funny, cute, positive guy. He should also be called a motivational speaker, not a pastor. His father was a mighty preacher that never compromised the Gospel of Jesus Christ. If he heard his son's preaching, Pastor John would probably be rolling over in his grave, if that were possible.

Some of the abominations happening in America weigh heavily on my heart, and I am to discuss them with you. And while these topics are uncomfortable to speak about, we still must discuss them.

First of all, we know there is a radical homosexual agenda being thrust upon America. The Federal Government has bent over backwards for these people, making new laws to "protect them" from those bad Christians and other people who disagree with their perverted lifestyles. The act of homosexuality is called an abomination to God. Specifically, Scripture reads, "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination." (Lev. 20:13 KJV) Now for those of you who say that this is Old Testament, and therefore archaic, I submit to you that it is still applicable. Why? Because God says, "For I am the Lord; I change not." (Mal. 3:6 KJV) What God once said is an abomination, remains an abomination.

Homosexuality is being taught in our public schools at younger and younger ages. Children who shouldn't be exposed to anything regarding sex are being taught that homosexuality is perfectly normal, that having two mommies or daddies is a good thing. But how about when these governmental indoctrination centers are teaching your little kids how to perform the act of anal sex? Children in elementary school should be learning reading, writing, and arithmetic! They are too young to be learning about sex of any kind. Hey, I don't want to talk about this, but we all must face the cold, hard facts about what is happening to our children. I first heard the story about the sex curriculum in Chicago public schools from Evangelist Anita Fuentes at emoaf.org. A detailed article can be found at Lifesitenews.com. Of course, none of this is surprising since anal sex is now being taught at Ivy League school, Harvard University. That story is reported by Pastor Ricky Scaparo at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kWkdL4VGMkw.

Then there is the assault on Christians in America who dare speak out against homosexuality. Recently there was the incident with Houston's homosexual mayor who demanded sermons, notes, and any communications regarding homosexuality. Since our Constitution protects pastors from such interference from government, the mayor had to back down. But rest assured, these radical homosexuals only lost the first skirmish in their unrelenting battle.

Additionally, there are the growing number of cases being brought by homosexuals who get "hurt feelings" because Bible-believing, God-following, Jesus-proclaiming Christians won't marry them, bake their cakes, photograph their weddings, or print their fliers. If the Christians don't acquiesce, denouncing their deeply-held religious beliefs, and do what the PC police and homosexuals are forcing upon them, they must pay heavy fines. And soon, will probably be jailed as well.

Further, are you aware of the growing trend for public bathrooms to be made unisex? What about in the public schools? Because of the PC trap we've gotten caught in, we and our kids are going to have to share our bathrooms with people of the opposite sex. Because of the confusion within the so-called LGBT community, guys that think they are girls, and vice versa, get to use whatever bathroom they want on any given day. Hello?! What are we thinking? A guy born as a guy is always going to be a guy, no matter what he does to his body, or what clothes he wears. Women and little girls should not have to be subjected to sharing their private bathroom moments with members of the opposite sex. And apparently guys don't appreciate he/she folks in their bathrooms. As ET Williams says: "Whatever happened to common sense?!" Actually, he has a website by that name where he speaks to the PC nonsense that has overtaken our nation.

America, you simply want everybody to get-along so you can live your own lives. Be careful of what you ask for. Wake up and understand that some groups, like the homosexuals, are never going to let up. They want more laws made that give them carte blanche, and silence anyone who wishes to criticize them. Remember, they contend that whatever they do in the privacy of their bedrooms is nobody else's business. However, they are the ones that do vile, disgusting things in the public, at their parades and rallies, and frankly, wherever they choose. But they want to silence the rest of us. They call us haters and homophobes. Well, I don't know about you, but I am soooo sick of hearing the word homophobe. Those of us who disapprove of the homosexual lifestyle aren't afraid...we are disgusted. And we are sick and tired of our government forcing us into silence.

We are indeed beginning to receive serious chastisement from God, mostly as a result of what we've allowed our government to foist upon us. But again, We the People select those who are responsible for running our government. Consequently, we are bringing the judgment upon ourselves. When these laws and mandates begin to touch God's children, serious judgment starts to fall. Pastor Perry Stone has commented that when our nation starts legalizing things God calls abominations, we've crossed the "covenant blood line." Judgment is at our door.

Our nation is indeed legalizing abominations. Same-sex marriage is now legal in 35 states, 24 of which were decided by the courts, eight by state legislature, and three by popular vote. In other words, there isn't a great demand by the citizens to legalize homosexual marriage. The government is acting on its own. In fact, the government is often going against the will of the people. The Bible says, "Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil." (Is. 5:20)

Oh dear friends, homosexuality isn't the only sin bringing judgment upon our nation; however, it is one of the major signs that God will have to judge us. Scripture tells us things will be as they were in the days of Lot, that the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the Lord exceedingly. (Gen. 13:13)

There are other things we need to discuss that clearly show America is paying a high and horrible price for rejecting God. We will discuss them in the next column. For now, isn't it time to choose to follow God and obey His commandments? Once again, whether individually, or as a nation, we choose to follow good or evil. If the majority of us choose evil, then that is the path our nation will continue on. If we choose good, then the nation will turn back to righteousness. And yes, we once were a righteous, God-honoring nation. May it be so again. To anyone willing to hear....
