America's turned her back on God--Now God's turning His back on us

Most of us have probably heard our parents tell us we should be careful about what we ask for. As American citizens, we should probably have heeded this advice for decades. But alas, we didn't. We asked for things we didn't need, or that were dangerous for us to have, always wanting what we want, when we want it, never considering the consequences. And here we stand in 2014, on the verge of losing our nation and the very freedoms given to us by our generous God who is no longer welcome, whose name can't even be mentioned, in public places. Because America has turned her back on God, He's now turning His back on us.

So then, what does the future of America hold for 2014? We are now a month into this New Year. The holidays are history, and for me, hopefully sickness is as well. Will there even be an America at the end of this year? Without a massive revival, it seems our future will be filled with many woes. In fact, we risk God turning us over both individually, and as a nation, to our own wicked desires and ways.

America is a nation that was founded by godly people for God's glory. Oh, there are naysayers who say this isn't so, that there is no proof of this. Actually, there is tons of written proof that our nation was founded on Christian principles, including the two most recognizable documents: the Declaration of Independence, and the U.S. Constitution. But before these documents were written, there was another important founding document, the Mayflower Compact. When I was in school, history classes still taught about this document. It reads:

Mayflower Compact: 1620

Agreement Between the Settlers at New Plymouth: 1620

IN THE NAME OF GOD, AMEN
. We, whose names are underwritten, the Loyal Subjects of our dread Sovereign Lord King James, by the Grace of God, of Great Britain, France, and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, &c. Having undertaken for the Glory of God, and Advancement of the Christian Faith, and the Honour of our King and Country, a Voyage to plant the first Colony in the northern Parts of Virginia; Do by these Presents, solemnly and mutually, in the Presence of God and one another, covenant and combine ourselves together into a civil Body Politick, for our better Ordering and Preservation, and Furtherance of the Ends aforesaid: And by Virtue hereof do enact, constitute, and frame, such just and equal Laws, Ordinances, Acts, Constitutions, and Officers, from time to time, as shall be thought most meet and convenient for the general Good of the Colony; unto which we promise all due Submission and Obedience. IN WITNESS whereof we have hereunto subscribed our names at Cape-Cod the eleventh of November, in the Reign of our Sovereign Lord King James, of England, France, and Ireland, the eighteenth, and of Scotland the fifty-fourth, Anno Domini; 1620.

Amazingly, the document is very succinct. Unlike today's massive bills passed by Congress that nobody can possibly read, like the latest nearly 1600 page spending bill, the Mayflower Compact was about 200 words, including the title. It also clearly states "for the Glory of God" and the "advancement of the Christian faith" as their purpose for planting the first colony. Contrary to what our current president may believe, the Pilgrims did not come to this new land to promote Islam.

Now almost 400 years later, Christians are in the fight of our lives to preserve our faith in a nation that was founded by Christians, and for Christianity. The faith of our Founders has been abolished from most public places. Prayer and the Bible have been banished from public/government schools. The military is actively banning Christian-oriented speech and prayer among the troops, and even the pastors/chaplains. But in all of these places, Islam is being promoted. In fact, special provisions are being made for Muslims in schools and the military.

Just this past week the Washington Times reported the Pentagon will be allowing Muslim soldiers to grow facial hair and wear turbans, scarves, etc. associated with their religion. By the way...Christian soldiers can only wear crosses if they can't be seen. With Muslims, these new "allowances" are prominent against military dress.

Also to accommodate and promote Islam, Conservative Frontline reports that the president has declared all public/government schools K-12 will be teaching about the wonders of Islam, starting February 1 of this year. Fox News Radio has reported that the teaching includes instruction on the five pillars of Islam. While Islam has already been taught in some states like California, it will now be mandatory. Question: Would Congress have had the guts to pass such a law? Not on your life. The only way this can happen is by dictatorial fiat. And what has Congress done to stop it?

Sadly, an increasing amount of positive information about Islam is being placed in school textbooks, while Christianity gets less space in the same textbooks, and is not portrayed in a positive manner. Parents, how do you like the fact your kids can learn about the five pillars of Islam, but NOT the Ten Commandments from the Bible? Radical Leftists/Communists love to talk about the bogus "separation of church and state" when it involves Christianity and Jesus Christ. But any and all false religions should be allowed.

Further, the Federal Government now considers Evangelical Christians, Catholics, and Ultra-Orthodox Jews serious threats to national security. Patriotupdate.com reports about Department of Homeland Security training seminars that include teaching about domestic terrorist groups. The list of top threats:
    Evangelical Christianity

    Muslim Brotherhood

    Ultra-Orthodox Jews

    Christian Identity

    Al Qaeda

    Hamas

    Abu Sayyam

    Ku Klux Klan

    Sri Ram Sene

    Catholicism

    Kamane Movement / Kach

    Army of God

    Sunni Muslims

    Nation of Islam

    Jewish Defense League

Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints

    Hutaree
Furthermore, "Islamophobia" was listed as a form of religious extremism.

Please note that Christians rank higher on the list of terrorist groups than the Muslim Brotherhood and Al Qaeda! Why is our government targeting those of Judeo Christian belief? That's because our faith is based in the Bible and the God of Abraham. And these beliefs are contrary to the communistic lies that have been taught in our schools for decades, and the communistic regime that now rules from the highest seats of power in government. We speak Truth from God's Word, and we must be silenced.

Sadly, since the 1960's, it appears anti-God forces have been successful at silencing much of the Church. When Christians allowed prayer and the Bible to be removed from the public schools, it was the beginning of the decline of Christianity in America. An overwhelming majority of Americans were Christians, and yet, one atheist is responsible for pushing God out of schools. And from then on, Christians began believing more atheist and communist lies and propaganda, political correctness became the rule, and Christians lost increasing amounts of their light and effectiveness.

There are still millions of Americans who claim they are Christians. I fear far too many of them are compromised with and far too comfortable in this evil world. The Bible says of Christians, "You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men. You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven." (Matt. 5:13-16 NIV)

Salt is a preservative. As salt, Christians are supposed to preserve the society in which we live. Dear friends, this Scripture tells us that if we have lost our "saltiness," we're basically no longer of any use to God. That thought should feel like a knife stabbing our hearts. And light dispels darkness, where evil resides. If our light has dimmed, or worse, gone out, then we are of no further use to God in dispelling evil.

Dear Christian, look around you. If you haven't seriously assessed the condition of our society in awhile, now is the time to do so. This month marks the 41st anniversary of Roe v Wade that granted women the "right" to abortion. Since that terrible Supreme Court decision, over 55 million babies have been murdered by their mothers and complicit doctors. Television, for the most part, is nothing but a cesspool of legalized pornography and foul language that teaches all forms of immorality, and mocks traditional family values and Christianity. And while homosexuals number a very small minority in America, their lewd behavior and lifestyles are shoved in our faces every which way – ad nauseam.

Again, salt and light have lost their effectiveness, and now darkness reigns. We who are called by the name of Jesus are responsible. We have failed to do our part either from complacency, or compromise with the world. Others have become afraid to boldly stand for their views – and their God. Regardless of our reasons, if we don't speak truth about our God and His Word to a dark, lost world, we deny Him. Accordingly, Jesus said that if we deny Him before men, He will deny us before the Father. (Matt. 10: 33) Therein is the problem.

Dear fellow Americans, individually and collectively as a nation, we have turned our backs on God. Consequently, He is turning His back on us and increasingly removing His hand of protection and blessing. We have broken His commandments and gone our own way. We have preferred darkness over light. And now we are reaping what we have sown.

What hope do we have? Can our course be reversed? Only God knows the answers. Let's pray we haven't gone too far. And may all Christians who read these words fall upon their knees in repentance for our personal sins, and those of our nation. To anyone willing to hear....
