America's debt debate--if not now, when? Part two

Hooray! The Federal Government is officially open again to inflict mass destruction upon American citizens. And the debt ceiling increase that Dictator Obama said wouldn't mean raising our debt was passed, albeit on a temporary basis. According to CNN's Steve Almasy, it only raised our debt $2.8 billion. What a deal!

During the government shutdown slowdown, the House passed bill after bill that would "re-open" government, and address the most immediate concern – the debt ceiling. Time after time, Obama refused to accept these bills. Instead he repeatedly accused the House of being responsible for the supposed shutdown, and for responsibility in causing a forthcoming default on our debt. Of course, Obama lied, but he kept hammering away as if speaking truth – and again, the uninformed, uneducated, and under-informed masses happily believed him. Remember the Marxist theory that a lie repeated often enough becomes truth? We see this in practice every day by our president.

Most troubling about the Senate's bill (H.R.2775) to re-open the government is what's being called the "McConnell Mechanism." According to Dean Clancy at Freedom Works, this bill "will temporarily suspend the U.S. Government's statutory debt limit and also temporarily shift Congress's borrowing power to the president. For the next three months, there will effectively be no way to limit the growth of the U.S. national debt...The bill will give the president the ability to raise the debt limit, subject to a congressional resolution of disapproval (which the president can veto, and the Congress can then override, by a two-thirds vote in both chambers)...But by combining the removal of the dollar cap with the effective removal of Congress's power to stop a debt hike by the president, Congress has created the conditions for the president to increase the nation's debt on a whim and without limit," states Clancy. While it is supposedly a temporary measure, who really believes it won't remain in place after the February deadline?

According to the Constitution, Article I, section 8, the power over debt lies within the House of Representatives – the house closest to the people. But then, the House voted for this bill, and Obama promptly signed it. Why on earth would they violate the Constitution, and relinquish more power to the Executive Branch – particularly when filled by this man? It's like giving your 15-year-old son your unlimited Platinum Visa Card, and telling him to go out and have fun spending. Very dangerous! But if they did so just to deflect blame for our debt problem to Obama, it won't work. We the People have awakened to the games our government is playing. They take increasing amounts of our money by force, and then either give it to deadbeats or other countries, in an attempt to "make everything more equal." Or worse yet, they treat our tax dollars like Monopoly money in their gigantic Marxist board game.

Once again we must remember we are in a battle for the future of our nation. As Mark Levin has frequently commented, "We are living in a post-constitutional America." We have gone from being a Representative Republic to something more akin to a Socialist republic. When Benjamin Franklin was asked about the type of government the Founders were forming, he said, "A republic, if you can keep it." And quite honestly, our demise is our own fault because we haven't done our part in maintaining what our Founding Fathers bequeathed to us.

Barack Obama never tried to hide what he is – a Socialist. And we elected him. Despite world history about the disasters of Socialism/Communism, he has wholeheartedly promoted this agenda in America. Acting more like a dictator or king than a leader elected by the people, to serve the people, he has forced his will upon us with nary a word or whimper from Congress, particularly the GOP contingent. His baby, Obamacare – Universal Health Care, phase one – was railroaded through to vote in the most disgraceful of ways. Unfortunately, only "lip service" has been paid to the idea of stopping it by Republicans. Of course Democrats want it – they just love to spend money on entitlements. And despite all the claims that it wasn't about universal health care, or a "single payer system," Senator Harry Reid finally admitted it is exactly that. They got a bill passed, and now can grow it into anything they desire. They essentially seized control of one-sixth of the American economy, and will eventually force the insurance industry to fold.

With socialists, the plan is always to make things more "fair" and "equal." To do this, they must take money from the "makers" and give it to the "takers." When there are more of the latter than of the former, we are in a desperate state. At this point, because the people have gotten used to their "free" cell phones, "free" healthcare, "free" food, and the rest of the "bread and circuses," this is when, like Rome, we will succumb to the barbarians at our door. Socialists tell people lies...plain and simple. We are told it is inherently unfair for some people to have more than others. We are told the rich keep getting richer and want the poor to stay that way. And then we are told that it is only right for the government to take from "wealthy" people and give that money to those less fortunate. And far too many Americans have bought this lie.

Folks, know this: Whatever the government gives you, it can take away. That is why our Founding Fathers spoke these words in the Declaration of Independence: "We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness – That to secure these Rights, Governments are instituted among Men." In God's eyes, we are all equal. The equality in this passage refer to the three things listed – life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. (The Founders had discussed using the word property instead of happiness.) God gives us life, and in Christ, we have liberty. And the pursuit of happiness can be whatever we wish, big or small. It is the "opportunity" to pursue it. The Bible says, "Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you your heart's desires." (Ps. 37:4 NLT) God says that He will bless us when we love and obey Him. (To love Him IS to obey Him.) But the Federal Government has brainwashed generations of Americans to believe that it can take the place of God.

In America, while we have an equal opportunity to "pursue" any goal we want, there is no guaranteed equality of outcome. We all come from different backgrounds; develop different hopes and desires; have differing skills, abilities, and education; and have varying levels of motivation and desire. Government cannot make citizens equal. In the parable of the talents in Matthew 25, even Jesus spoke of men being given the same amount of talents, with each reaping in regard to his own ability. Also, Jesus said, "You will always have the poor among you, and you can help them whenever you want to." (Mark 14:7 NLT) Jesus is telling us there will be different outcomes for people, so why would we think the government can change this?

What we know is that the Federal Government has taken far too much from the makers ever since the Federal Income Tax was instituted. Huge numbers of people pay nothing to help support the government programs and entitlements they have become so accustomed to. One day the makers will not be plentiful enough, or able to provide enough to run the government. So then, what will we do? All the while, our elected officials are driving-up the debt while clinging to all their pet programs, pork, and entitlements. They don't suffer because they are the "Ruling Class." Sound familiar? It should...the "us and them" class system is one major reason our Founders fled from England to establish what we now call the United States of America. These elected officials are supposed to represent our interests, and protect us from all enemies, both foreign and domestic. Instead, they have become an enemy that is destroying our prosperity, stability, and future existence. Isn't it time to stop this destructive nonsense, or are you sitting pretty fat and sassy from the fruits of someone else's hard work? If you aren't truly and honestly disabled or otherwise grossly sick and therefore unable to work, shame on you if you aren't working in some way to help support yourself. And double shame on you if you are teaching your kids to be deadbeats. Take personal responsibility for your own life.

We cannot keep raising the federal debt ceiling so the Ruling Class can forcibly take increasing amounts of money from hard-working Americans to give to those they deem "worthy." These government officials are not God, and don't have the right. According to the Declaration of Independence, government gets its power from "the Consent of the Government." It is We the People who hold the power to undo the damage done to us. Continually raising the debt ceiling only enables government to keep spending. Whereas, if we "cut up their credit card," like used to be required by credit card companies, they will be forced to live within their means. Senator Tom Coburn actually demonstrated cutting up the government's "credit card" on the Senate floor last week.

It has been said there isn't enough money in the world to pay for all the debt we are obligated to. And yet, Obama wants more. And the big spenders, whether from the party of big spenders (Dems), or from the growing number of GOP big government/big-spending folks, they are all too happy to spend our money. Let's rein them in, America. This is a debate we must have, and force Congress to have. If not now, then when are we going to act? Our debt increases about a million dollars a minute. What are we waiting for? WE are responsible for it. To anyone willing to hear...
