Reaping what we sow -- Part Two

For at least the past 50 years our government has been grabbing increasing control over our lives, and therefore, our liberty. But then, aren't we getting just what we asked for? Instead of taking control over our individual and corporate destiny, we have relinquished this responsibility to government.

Right after the 2008 election, there were TV spots showing a young black woman saying that since Barack Obama had been elected president, she would no longer have to worry about paying her house or car payments. The answer-to-all-our-needs-wants-desires president had finally arrived to provide for her and millions of others.

We have asked for handouts, freebies, and entitlements. "Gimme,Gimme." "I want my fair share." "This is owed to me." Government has become the solution to all of our problems. We want government to teach our kids; find us jobs; pay us for time off to have our babies; pay us when we lose our jobs; pay to rehabilitate us from our own addictive behavior; supply our health care and prescription medicines; find cures for all diseases; eradicate AIDS while insuring attributing drug and sexual behavior is protected; provide needles and condoms for this behavior, and sometimes how-to books (no joke); protect us from ALL enemies without anyone actually having to serve in the Armed Services or fight in wars; provide retirement income; provide for all needs to deadbeats too lazy to get out of bed and get jobs; (provide all needs for illegal immigrants that sneak into our country and take the jobs the deadbeats supposedly won't take); pay to raise the kids we don't want and run-out on; and on and on...

Don't deny it. This IS the mindset of an alarming number of Americans. Ask yourself the following questions: How many of the above things have you been waiting to receive from government? How many times have you had your hands opened wide to receive something you think the government owes you? How many times have you mouthed the words, "gimme, gimme?" Perhaps you consider yourself to be in a minority, and that government owes you your "fair share." Personal "rights" have become more important than personal responsibility, hard work, and faith in and dependence on God, principles on which our nation was founded.

What's frightening is that in the past, we have looked at government in general to provide for us. Now it seems that Barack Obama has positioned himself to be the "Head of Handouts." And we bow before his thrown. Utilizing tools like fear and class warfare, the president repeats his mantra of half-truths and propaganda ad nauseam until we can no longer recognize truth. Vladimir Lenin said that a lie told often enough becomes truth.

The Bible tells us that in the last days there will be a ruler, the man of perdition, who will arise on the world scene, and will have "the answer" to all the world's worries and woes. Among his characteristics, he will arise from obscurity, will be charming and charismatic, yet boastful, and will be worshipped by the multitudes. All people will follow him. No, this person is not Barack Obama. There will be many forerunners who will act in "dress rehearsals" to prepare us for the arrival of this one man on the world scene.

Barack Obama did seemingly arise from obscurity. He is considered one of the least qualified people for his position. Some say our president is charming and charismatic. Boastful? During a 15-minute speech last week, he used the words "I" and "me" a total of 48 times. (Showing he is neither a great orator nor a humble man.) And multitudes are worshipping him...Media, radicals, and the usual "takers" of society.

But let's not forget his new admirers like Chavez, Castro, Ahmadinejad, Kadafi, and all the other non-first world dictators and crazies. Oh, I almost forgot...what about all the school children who are being taught, and are singing songs of worship and adoration to King Obama? Children cannot sing Christmas carols in school that mention the birth of The King, Jesus, but they can sing about Obama? (Barack Hussein Obama, mmm, mmm, mmm. Such a catchy little song.)

We are abdicating our personal responsibility to a government that is now increasingly forcing itself into every area of our lives, from cradle to grave.

We asked for someone to "take care of us," so we got the man-who-thinks-he-is-king Obama. But there are always, always consequences for our decisions. Instead of being "represented," we are being "ruled." Unlike government, God will not force himself upon us, and will allow us to make our own choices. Because we are so wise in our own sight, and have chosen to turn our collective back on the one God and Grantor of our liberties, we are paying a price. We are losing our very liberty and freedom to tyranny, and reaping what we have sown.

In the Last Days, after the whole world has accepted leadership from the man of perdition, it finally dawns on his "followers" that he is not the answer, and that he wasn't telling the truth. They learn too late to undo the events they allowed to be set in motion. American citizens can undo some of the damage we've done if we reject the idea that Barack Obama or any other government official can make life decisions for us. We need to return to our nation's founding principles: personal responsibility; hard work; and faith in, honor for, and dependence on God. Are we willing to do this? To anyone willing to hear....
