Jesus Alive
By Ronald R. Cherry
My publisher's wife, Pamela Capages, compiled a book of her poetry last year containing one entitled "The Ozark Hills." This poem refers to the beauty of the Ozarks and fond memories of her family's heritage there. Pamela then speaks of our eternal heavenly home, where the Prince of Peace lives, and of a "final triumphal homecoming with Jesus, Alive." I was inspired by Pamela to write a poem entitled "Jesus Alive."
Jesus Alive
Born into life by the hand of God
Nurtured in love under Mother's face
Directed to virtue with Father's nod
Stirred to faith by Divine grace
Laboring in strength like our Creator
Made in His image we thrive
Holding the hand of blessed Savior
Eternal world with Jesus alive
