Breaking mad: The media goes berserk over retiring Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy
By Bonnie Chernin
If there has ever been a reason to suspect that the militant left is off their minds, all doubt is gone. The retirement of Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy has brought out the best of the radical left. Twitter is ablaze with vicious comments that make no sense at all.
Wasn't Justice Anthony Kennedy a pro-abortion liberal? The left quickly forgets that it was Justice Kennedy who preserved the right to kill unborn babies with his opinion in Planned Parenthood v. Casey in 1992. They forget that it was Justice Kennedy who ruled in favor of gay marriage in Obergefell v. Hodges in 2015.
That did not stop Ian Milhiser from ThinkProgress to write on his Twitter feed that Justice Kennedy should go "F" himself. The cover of the New York Daily News has a headline with a similar sentiment using the "F" word that makes me embarrassed to be a New Yorker.
Some writers, like Libby Watson of SplinterNews.com are already predicting that women had better get their IUD's now. I hate to inform Ms. Watson, but the Dalkon Shield was introduced in 1968, five years before the Roe v. Wade decision.
Steven Colbert, On the Late Show with Steven Colbert: "We are supremely screwed. Enjoy your gay marriages now, because as of August 1st, you're back to being roommates."
From Cher on her Twitter feed: "SOME AMERICANS "COULD FIND "THEMSELVES" IN INTERNMENT CAMPS." All of Cher's comments were in screaming mode with words I won't publish.
Bette Midler: "Congress, gone, SCOTUS, gone, the Executive branch, in the hands of a madman..."
National Correspondent Ryan Cooper: "Congratulations to Supreme Court Justice David Duke." What does that mean? Does Ryan Cooper fear that President Trump will pick someone who is a Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard and despises Jews? I don't know what he means. I'm not sure that even he knows what he means.
What is going on here? The seat is hardly cold yet, and the left has lost its collective mind.
CNN Legal Analyst Jeffrey Toobin stated that Roe v. Wade is "doomed" because President Trump won the election. Much has to happen for Roe to be overturned and that remains to be seen – who knows if a pro-life nominee will even be confirmed.
Nevertheless, Roe is BAD LAW and always has been. Roe v. Wade has a companion law, Doe v. Bolton, which the left never mentions. That law allows abortion for all nine months of pregnancy for any reason, including sex selection. Since 1973, we have wiped out a generation. Nearly 60 million babies have died since Roe v. Wade was enacted as a Constitutional "right." Pregnant women are maimed and killed by legal abortion. AbortionDocs.org maintains a website that details abortionists that may as well be working out of a back alley.
In this writer's opinion, Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton should be sent to the trash bins of history. Women need life-affirming choices, ones that do not involve killing their unborn babies.
