Brown: “Two men—one a false prophet, a liar, and a deceiver, the other a man who lacks the courage and conviction of the Holy Spirit whose gifts he has rejected for love of his own understanding—embracing each other in their own pomposity as only the foolish can do.”
WASHINGTON, D.C. (12 November 2020)—American Life League executive vice president Hugh Brown released the following statement today regard the comments made by Joe Biden’s administration that Pope Francis has congratulated Biden:
Joe Biden’s team announced today that Pope Francis called Joe Biden to extend his blessings and congratulations. Mr. Biden “expressed his desire to work together on the basis of a shared belief in the dignity and equality of all humankind on issues such as caring for the marginalized and the poor, addressing the crisis of climate change, and welcoming and integrating immigrants and refugees into our communities.”
Excuse me while I vomit.
Here in bizzarro world, where the master-of-confusion politician pope embraces the self-excommunicated anti-Christ pro-abortion, self-proclaimed next president of the United States, there really is not much to add.
Two men—one a false prophet, a liar, and a deceiver, the other a man who lacks the courage and conviction of the Holy Spirit whose gifts he has rejected for love of his own understanding—embracing each other in their own pomposity as only the foolish can do.
Now is not a time for despair. Now is not a time to lose faith or hope in the Catholic Church. In our lifetime, these two lost souls will be long dead and gone and held to account by God almighty. The Church and her infallible teachings on the sanctity of human life, the truth of the covenant of marriage, the truth of human sexuality, and the undeniable certainty of the Natural Law will endure until the end of time.
Now is a time to fight. Now is a time to appreciate the faithful priests and bishops God has put in our midst. Now is a time to remember that the source and summit of our faith is the Eucharist. Now is a time to go to adoration and pray for our Lord’s justice and mercy for this great nation. Now is a time to pray the Rosary and ask for the intercession of our most Blessed Mother as we pray for the strength and courage to fight the good fight and never back down from the evil one and his woke mob of dead souls and spineless pretenders.
Now is time to study the words spoken by St. John Paul II just before he became pope:
We are now standing in the face of the greatest historical confrontation humanity has gone through. I do not think that wide circles of American society or wide circles of the Christian community realize this fully. We are now facing the final confrontation between the Church and the anti-Church, of the Gospel versus the anti-Gospel.
This confrontation lies within the plans of divine Providence; it is a trial which the whole Church, and the Polish Church in particular, must take up. It is a trial of not only our nation and the Church, but, in a sense, a test of 2,000 years of culture and Christian civilization with all of its consequences for human dignity, individual rights, human rights and the rights of nations.
Now is a time to remember that the Lord loves you, and He believes in you, for He has placed you here in this time and place to stand up against the great evil we have seen from within the Catholic Church and from the liars and deceivers who call themselves Catholic but who live lives of deception and death.
Our faith is not really our faith, unless when tested, it strengthens, it endures, it weathers, it perseveres, and ultimately it loves. The second book of Sirach begins:
My child, when you come to serve the Lord, prepare yourself for trials. Be sincere of heart and steadfast, and do not be impetuous in time of adversity. Cling to him, do not leave him, that you may prosper in your last days. Accept whatever happens to you; in periods of humiliation be patient. For in fire gold is tested, and the chosen, in the crucible of humiliation. Trust in God, and he will help you; make your ways straight and hope in him. You that fear the Lord, wait for his mercy, do not stray lest you fall. You that fear the Lord, trust in him, and your reward will not be lost. You that fear the Lord, hope for good things, for lasting joy and mercy.
I speak with too many people who have lost hope.
Don’t.
Have faith. This life is just a blink. Remember that we are the faith of the saints and martyrs. We are not the church of the collegial, common discernment seeking, proportionate reasoning self-loving political deceivers.
We are a faith built on the blood of men and women who in their time gave their very lives willingly and selflessly. Sacrificing all they had, all they were, and all they were ever going to be, with the faith and undying belief that this life was worth sacrificing for our Lord Jesus for the life He has promised us yet to come.
Lean on that, lean on the saints, and let us commit to being warriors for Christ in an hour when the Lord needs us most.
