Judie Brown
American Life League executive vice president, Hugh Brown, issued the following commentary today regarding his mother and American Life League president Judie Brown:
Fear and division are not Christian virtues. Fear and division are weapons of the devil.
Today, America seems overrun and is drowning in fear.
Yet courage is the virtue of the saints.
During her lifetime, my mother, Judie Brown, has lived a life defined by courage.
Did you know that in the 1970’s Judie worked at National Right to Life?
My mother walked away from that and began American Life League because National Right to Life supported exceptions – saying that it was okay to kill children in cases of rape, incest, or the life of the mother.
National Right to Life also could not bring themselves to oppose contraception – quite frankly the root of abortion. Judie could not as a Catholic support any of those positions.
Walking away from what at the time was the largest pro-life organization in the country took great courage.... but it also took great humility.
So she and my father mortgaged their home and began American Life League. For the last 41 years she has been celebrated by saints such as Pope John Paul II and Mother Theresa and personal heroes such as Cardinal John O’Conner.
At the same time, she has been actually yelled at by grown men such as the late Cardinal Francis George of Chicago. The reason why? For daring to beg him to defend Christ in the Eucharist by denying anti-Christ and so-called "Catholics" like Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi.
Even Cardinal Timothy Dolan of New York refused to take the stage at a pro-life event a few years ago with “that woman.”
Yes, it seems that Judie Brown telling the truth, defending babies in the womb, defending Christ in the Eucharist from sacrilege, and defending the elderly and infirm from prescribed death in the guise of mercy and euthanasia, brings out the true identity of the “shepherds” of Christ.
Men show you who they are when their hubris and ego are questioned.
Are they humble, faithful servants willing to forsake the rebuke, scorn, and hate of the world in the defense of the truth for the eternal salvation of the flock?
Or are they more offended by Judie Brown's words by her begging them to do their jobs for the sake of the babies in the face of a so-called ‘lawful’ execution of 62 million babies since 1973?
Sadly, we all know the answer.
Their nauseating, lukewarm, and meandering nothingness is the only backbone they have in response to generational genocide.
The best part though? Judie Brown does not care.
My favorite story is (formerly) esteemed (and now former) Cardinal Theodore McCarrick attacking my mother, calling her a zealot and a voice to be ignored.
When the devil's advocate throws shade on your mama, you know you've got a good mama!
So this Mother's Day I want to thank my mama, Judie Brown.
Thank her for being faithful, true, and unwavering in the face of hatred, spite, envy, anger, and maliciousness, not just from the world but from within the hierarchy of the Catholic Church.
