Planned Parenthood chicanery in Missouri (and Illinois)
By Judie Brown
Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region and Southwest Missouri (PPSLRSWMO) has been fighting a battle against the health department and legislators in Missouri for decades. The reason is simple to explain. Planned Parenthood wants to kill as many Missourians as possible and the state wants to protect its preborn. Last year, the state was able to stop abortions at all Planned Parenthood facilities except the one in St. Louis – known as Reproductive Health Services. Even though that facility is notorious for failing health inspections and causing harm to mothers, Planned Parenthood fought to keep it open, the Missouri Health Department refused to renew Planned Parenthood's license to operate. That should have been the end, but . . .
Planned Parenthood filed lawsuits against the state and then went into the court asking that it be allowed to keep the facility open until its suit was concluded. After months of court maneuvers, this past June, St. Louis Circuit Judge Michael Stelzer removed the case from state courts and ordered that it be taken up with the Administrative Hearing Commission. That panel handles licensing disputes between state agencies, businesses and people. The AHC hearing on Planned Parenthood's license was later set for August 1. Then, on July 2, the Administrative Hearing Commissioner, Sreenivasa Rao Dandamudi, tentatively rescheduled the hearing for the last week in October. Reproductive Health Services in St. Louis would remain open at least until then.
As frustrating as all this delay was, only a few people understood that it was all part of a secret plan by Planned Parenthood. We now know that, while all this was going on, in the fall of 2018, Planned Parenthood secretly began building a new abortion facility only 13 miles from Reproductive Health Services. This new 18,000 square foot mega abortion facility is in Illinois – thus being out of reach of Missouri law. Planned Parenthood created a separate Limited Liability Corporation and that entity bought a former medical facility at 317 Salem Place, Fairview Heights, Illinois, renovated it, and Planned Parenthood announced late last month that the facility would be up and running by the third week of October – a week before the planned AHC hearing in Missouri. In making the announcement, Planned Parenthood bragged that no one knew that this was a Planned Parenthood facility.
BAM! Planned Parenthood, even while insisting that committing abortions is not significant to it, spent millions of dollars on an Illinois abortuary to protect its baby-killing empire. And, while doing this, it suckered in a number of construction contractors who thought they were building something good – a medical facility to help people – and not realizing they were actually building a house of death. PPSLRSWMO chief medical officer, Colleen McNicholas, actually told reporters that PP needed to keep the real purpose of this facility secret to avoid protesters and to make it easier to get local contractors to work on the facility.
There is no telling how many pro-life and Christian contractors were traumatized this week as they found out the building they helped construct was going to be used to kill human beings. These adult victims of Planned Parenthood's chicanery need our prayers as they come to grips with what they've unknowingly done.
