Criminal minds unfettered
By Judie Brown
The moral depravity and absolute criminality of Planned Parenthood continues to shock even those of us who know of its nefarious practices. But where it will end remains a mystery, and something that we must work hard to effect.
There is no longer any doubt about the business Planned Parenthood has engaged in with StemExpress and possibly others in using baby body parts for clinical research and experimentation. The published quotations that the Center for Medical Progress has posted, excerpted from the latest video featuring StemExpress employees discussing the brain tissue of preborn babies, ought to give any right-thinking person the chills. But then again, it is obvious that the folks involved in the sale and acquisition of baby body parts are not right-thinking. Otherwise such transactions would not exist.
Let's look at an example.
Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, has argued that those who produced the video series attempted to "entrap doctors," and says their efforts have not succeeded. In fact, she tells us: "Women in a very few places are allowed to donate fetal tissue for lifesaving medical research, research that is developing cures for Parkinson's and for Alzheimer's, even the Ebola vaccine. To me, this isn't something that should be criticized or made fun of. This is laudable that women and their families choose to make fetal tissue."
Apparently Richards actually believes that there is good being done when Planned Parenthood doctors abort babies, and that selling the tissue, cells, and organs of these babies is so incredibly honorable that praise of the practice should be taking place instead of the downright horror that has affected hundred of thousands of Americans.
But you see, the insensitivity of Richards, her crew, and her collaborators needed to be brought into the light and it should shock us. The alternative would be for us to share in the moral bankruptcy that is the abortion industry's currency.
Observing this trend in our culture, it is discomfiting to read a detailed recitation of the names of moral monsters of the past, including Adolf Hitler and Pol Pot, followed by these words: "With the growth of the billion dollar organ and tissue transplantation industry in the United States it was inevitable that PPA [Planned Parenthood] would see how lucrative it would be to provide organs and tissue from aborted infants, its directors could dream of owning a Lamborghini. Part of the value of these videos is that they have revealed the existence of hundreds, maybe thousands, of men and women who staff PPA clinics and who are clearly moral monsters as much as the more famous moral monsters identified in history."
The writer, Catholic bishop Rene Gracida, uncovers the plain and painful truth – there are moral monsters and they are among us. These are criminal minds unfettered by God's laws.
In truth, the only thing that separates the verbal defense of monstrous acts like those captured in the CMP videos from the rest of us is the ability to discern what is right and good versus what is evil and wrong. God defines the clear distinction between the two and to argue otherwise is to tread on very dangerous ground.
As Pope John Paul II said in his homily at the 1993 World Youth Day Mass:
Speak out! Spread the word! Have no fear!

-
Have no fear. The outcome of the battle for life is already decided, even though the struggle goes on against great odds and with much suffering.
Do not be afraid to go out on the streets and into public places, like the first Apostles who preached Christ and the Good News of salvation in the squares of cities, towns and villages. This is no time to be ashamed of the Gospel (cf. Rom 1: 16). It is the time to preach it from the rooftops (cf Mt 10:27).
Speak out! Spread the word! Have no fear!
