America's ever increasing capacity for delusion

The Bible plainly teaches that one of the characteristics of the end of this age is that people will develop a capacity for delusion rather than the truth. – Rev Billy Graham – From Billy Graham: Delusion or Deliverance?

Delusions are cropping up faster than weeds in what was once one of the finest gardens the world has ever known – the United States of America. But why?

It would be all too easy to say what this writer believes with every molecule in my body – we are approaching the very last of the last days as we know them. Before the reader flees away mumbling something about those darn doomsday prophets, consider these prophecies, which in fact, are promises.

The question of why we choose delusions is the easiest of all to answer. When the truth is not loved, revered and respected, the next thing we meet on the road is "delusion" and her companion or mate, "strong delusion."

The delusion spoken of in this passage of scripture can only be connected to the last days because the verses preceding it have to do with the coming of the antichrist. We are already witnessing the strong delusions, which means, the antichrist is not far behind.

"Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition." (2Th 2: 3)

What man and what sin?

"Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie." (2Th 2: 9-11)

The why, is easy to see, "because they received not the love of the truth."

The where, is apparent – everywhere in our world today, including these United States?

The when, is about a breath away; when considering that if antichrist were not a full grown adult today – he would arrive too late to accommodate the fulfilled prophecies already at the doors, pertaining to the last days.

The what, is burgeoning and cannot be covered in one small article. So let's look at the short list to see the truths we are discarding so we can carry on in our deadly dance with delusion.

Education and Academia – We are approaching the top of one long generation of active removal of the knowledge of God in our classrooms. We have gone from skepticism, to mocking, then right up the path to open persecution of those who so much as mention God in a classroom setting.

We hate the truth and are teaching this hatred to our children. This pathology has a natural outcome, to wit:

"So are the paths of all that forget God; and the hypocrite's hope shall perish: Whose hope shall be cut off, and whose trust shall be a spider's web." (Job 8: 13-14)

We have made science our new god, but our best use of it produces weapons of war, distractions for our children and the notion that we must be smarter than our creator.

We have put behind us the early warnings, the first clues were seen when the Nazi's heralded the great work in anthropology accomplished by one torturer and murderer known as Joseph Mengele. He drowned his unwilling patients, poisoned, tortured and brutalized men, women and children – all in the name of science.

We took the brilliant work of Albert Einstein and brought the cloud of nuclear annihilation upon the entire planet.

Our new god is both a farce and a fake when our application of its limited truths denies our origins and our outcome incorrectly and sends civilization into its final death throes.

Are we a race evolved from apes haply traversing to the stars, or are we exactly what Christ declares us to be – a fallen race that after a short trial will be raised to judgment?

The delusion is a generation that prefers to hang from a flimsy spider's web, rather than planting its feet on the solid rock of Christ.

Education apart from God is not just broken – it is a grand delusion.

Hollywood, Media and Entertainment – now pipelined directly through in digital perfection from the handhelds to the large screens, from which comes Satan's finest work.

Shows too numerous to list all replete with sex, drugs, death, lust, immorality, perversion, foolishness and anything else that will fit into the directly connected sewer line leading to the American mind. There is something for all ages. Now no longer family friendly – but the entire family can be polluted together.

Courts and Law – This is where the word delusional is given new meaning. One ruling via the highest court in the land (Roe) allows the destruction of our naturally procreated offspring. The other (Obergefell) allows a union that will assure their will be no naturally produced offspring.

Somehow the social engineering accomplished by these two delusional examples of law and jurisprudence is seen as an advancement for civilization, but on its face are two of the most de-humanizing and delusional rulings ever produced in our thousands of years of history.

If you think this is harsh remember that it would take decades for ISIS to catch up to Planned Parenthood's nearly 4,000 unborn babies per day that are returned to God marked "unwanted." Recently one writer referred to Planned Parenthood as the Western division of ISIS.

Herein is the perfect example of America's enlarged capacity for delusion. We spend billions to hunt down and stop the killers in ISIS, but we fund and subsidize the killers in Planned Parenthood.

As to the delusion now fully acceptable in our jurisprudence – I rest my case.

Politics and Governance – Politics in America today is a rolling ball of confusion that resembles in every way a second fall of the Roman Empire. After nearly eight years of a devastating and anti-American Obama administration now many Americans are blindly lining up behind Donald Trump.

Lesser delusions are John Kasich's refusal to give up on a hopeless campaign. Second to that, comes Rubio's refusal to give his delegates to anyone. And we thought it wasn't about him, but it was all about America! Then along comes the big delusion.

That delusion seems to go largely like this. If Mr. Trump secures enough delegates to win the GOP nomination it will produce one result – Hillary Clinton's victory. If perchance, a brokered convention produces yet another candidate who is not now in the race, the result will be – Hillary Clinton's victory. This is a clear lose-lose outcome via a delusional electorate.

There seems to be no escape, no place of refuge for those who still love and revere the truth. But that is not the truth.

Even in this critical hour in our history, Jesus Christ and his gospel, is the refuge, for all those who love and respect the truth.

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (Jn 14: 6)
