Apostasy watch -- Europe and U.S. leading the pack

In one of the most detailed warnings on the second coming of Christ known as the Olivet Discourse Jesus warned all believers to – watch!

"Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come." (Mt 24: 42)

The apostate (failing and falling away) church of the last days is unfortunately part of the problem. Much of today's church has gone independent, rebelled and compromised strict adherence to biblical mandates and what is known as sound doctrine. The remaining faithful are forced to take an ever increasing role in standing fast and upholding the essentials of the faith.

As one minister often says, the resistance and belligerence of a world rising to welcome the well prophesied antichrist does not make the church what it is – it only reveals what it is. The faithful will remain true – to the very last moment of time.

Events transpiring across the globe are piling on faster than ever before and the most well versed eschatologist may at times have a problem keeping up.

LGBT activism now escalating to the level of tyranny

In spite of the biblical warning that homosexuality is an abomination to God that will cause severe judgments to fall on the nations that promote it, the LGBT hawks have managed to cause a socially driven sweep of general acceptance of everything "gay" throughout the U.S.

In Texas two homosexuals have caused a federal judge to strike down the states recently passed ban on "gay marriage" pending an appeal in the appellate court later this year. It is one of many cases in the U.S. where judges have overstepped the boundaries of the law and over-ridden the will of the people.

In some cases the gays create such an activist stir that any attempt to create new legislation to curb the advance of the LGBT agenda is squashed right out of the gate.

In Arizona the bill (SB 1060) to give the right to refuse a gay customer in businesses was vetoed by Governor Jan Brewer on the basis that it may provoke more trouble from the LGBT than it is worth.

In the meantime cake makers and others have had to close their businesses or have been loaded with hefty fines and penalties for refusing services to gays based on their own religious beliefs.

The fires of the LGBT are obviously fueled by Barack Obama's cozy attitude about "gay marriage," the entertainment industry and other LGBT causes. Mr. Obama has openly balked at the clarity contained in the first chapter of the book of Romans. Not only does the book describe all homosexual activity as an abomination, but the final outcome of it, is eternal separation from God, an awful high price to pay for a ticket on the pop-culture train of today's spurious PC driven social changes.

Where is all this leading?

I have over forty years of studying eschatology under my belt, but in this case it would take only a novice to see that it is all leading down the fast track directly to hell – literally.

Big changes in Europe in only three short months – Antichrist watchers on high alert

Trying to pinpoint exactly who the antichrist is today may seem futile because so many politicians and rising stars of the political class are now going fully liberal and almost totally Godless. Suffice it to say, that we needn't worry because even if we don't know for sure today – the entire world will know who he is when, as the scripture says, he will be revealed.

"Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God." (2 Th 2: 3-4)

In May 2014, a new President will be elected to the EU and a new push for complete political preeminence of the EU parliament over each nation's sovereignty is also in the offing. The present field of candidates vying for the job of replacing outgoing Herman Van Rompuy is well worth watching for eschatologists.

One interesting candidate that is clearly different from most of the others is Greek politician Alexis Tsipras

He is the nominee for the Party of the European left; he also is the youngest of all the candidates at 39 years of age. He is a total atheist whose political roots are in socialism and communism. He remains un-married, but has cohabitated with his high school girlfriend for twenty years and they have one child.

Not only is he a wildly popular figure in Greece, but was elected unanimously to the SYRIZA a conglomerate of 13 far left radical groups. He has an Obama like quality of being believed without a long established history of significant accomplishments or well accepted political plans or skills.

Fast rising hotly burning stars in the European political theatre will all be scrutinized very carefully from this point and onward in the framework of the eschatological time table. Tsipras is one to watch, but he is certainly not the only one on the list.

Since the election of the next EU president is for five years, we can safely say that if the antichrist is not among them this time, we can almost bet the farm, he will be on the short list in the next election.

Why watch?

Christ clearly warned that by not watching we could be caught completely off guard and unawares.

"And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch ye therefore..." (Luke 21: 34-36)
