Obama considers real America "the enemy"

The glaring duplicity in media coverage of the current chaotic "healthcare" debate is unparalleled. When a lone gunman shoots an abortionist, the nightly news incessantly recounts the event for weeks, insisting that the brutal action most certainly reflects a universal mindset among any and all who call themselves pro-life. But let the people of heartland America rise up in unprecedented numbers at Democrat "town hall" meetings and voice their sincere opposition to the attempt by Obama and the left to implement socialized "health care," and they are derided as merely a loud but insignificant "fringe."

In other words, the stories presented on the nightly news are no reflection of reality. Instead, events are selectively cited and depicted so as to promote the leftist ideology of the network "news" apparatchiks.

An enormous groundswell of opposition to the Obama Administration is erupting throughout the land. Real Americans are shaking off their former apathy and reasserting their role in the workings of the national government. Congressional and White House liberals are being put to flight and their agenda is being driven back. Yet the liberal media cabal lacks even that shred of objectivity needed to address this pivotal moment in American history with any degree of honesty.

Worse yet, the budding signs of dangerous abuses of power by the Obama Administration, in response to this genuine grassroots opposition to his collectivist agenda, are clearly not being properly represented as the threat they pose. The sounding of such a clarion call would represent the true purpose of the "free press" guaranteed by the Framers of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Yet those entrusted to do so have, of their own free will, sold out to the statist oligarchy in a manner even more flagrant than might be the case under despotic rule where conformity to the party line would have been forcibly imposed upon them.

Ominous signs of a coordinated suppression of truth are rampant. They represent a far more significant threat to the security and freedom of every American, irrespective of political leaning, than any military or terrorist assault in the history of the country. Nevertheless, they continue to ensue virtually unmentioned and unchallenged anywhere in the major media.

In St. Louis, Missouri, an event reminiscent of Germany's "Brownshirts" erupted in which Kenneth Gladney, a black conservative, was brutally assaulted and beaten by pro-Obama activists. During the course of their attack they hurled racial epithets and threats at him. Still, coverage of the event or subsequent efforts to bring the attackers to justice have been scarce. Clearly, the liberal Democrat/media axis is only "concerned" about racism and "hate crimes" when they can be exploited to serve the cause of the left. As a conservative, Gladney and his plight clearly do not.

Rather, the unilateral liberal misinformation campaign has labeled any and all opponents of their agenda as "Nazis," an "angry mob," and "un-American." Guarantees of free speech, the right to peaceably assemble (and despite the media hype, these protestors are boisterous and energetic, but in no way violent or unruly), and the ability to petition the government for a redress of grievances are summarily dispatched at the altar of leftist expediency. The First Amendment has clearly become a distraction to this worthy liberal cause.

An even more menacing action came directly from the White House itself. Realizing that Barack Obama's underhanded program can only be successfully achieved within a complete media/information monopoly, he has called on sympathetic minions to help compile an "enemies list" by submitting the identities of any who dare to resist his medical socialism plan by disseminating any information that "seems fishy."

The completely ambiguous and broad nature of this qualifier is entirely deliberate. By leaving the definition of "fishy" completely in the eyes of the leftist beholder, Obama and his statist cabal can paint with a broad brush any who dare to offer any view other than the state-approved opinion on the government takeover of the medical industry. In this manner, he hopes to intimidate the faint of heart and thus discourage further participation.

To date, these devious schemes have only served to energize the grassroots, who realize that as efforts on both sides of the issue intensify, the stakes for their freedom and the very future of their country are raised. Lose this battle, with all of the criminal duplicity that the left has employed, and the former greatness of their country, is finished. Not only will the medical socialists henceforth seize complete dominion over who will and will not receive care, but the very manner in which such statism is imposed will serve as a model for the complete eradication of freedom from every aspect of life in this country.

Sadly, while real America is not backing down, Republican insiders are once again bending to the political pressures from inside the Beltway. Few have risen to the defense of the protestors with any real exuberance. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R.- KY), who should be leading the conservative charge, instead offered this insipid observation, "I think attacking citizens in our country for expressing their opinions about an issue of this magnitude may indicate some weakness in their position on the merits."

This is no time for such faux diplomacy. When the left seeks to forcibly impose its agenda, while working to stamp out every opposing voice, the conservative counter-offensive must be far more strident. Anything less than a response of equivalent ferocity from those in positions of prominence on the right, especially considering the worthiness of the cause, amounts to a capitulation to the enemies of freedom.

It is high time for Congressional and Senate Republicans to become fully engaged in this conflict. Obama, Pelosi, and their kind have made their position and their ultimate intentions clear. They are waging an all-out war to wrest complete control of the future of the country from its citizenry. Acquiescence under the guise of "ending the rancor," "finding common ground," or "bipartisanship," is not an option.
