'Matt Abbott is a bit fat idiot'
By Matt C. Abbott
At least two individuals didn't particularly care for my Jan. 12 column regarding Al Franken.
Matthew Huber wrote (in addition to including "Matt Abbott is a big fat idiot" — mimicking the title of Mr. Franken's book about Rush Limbaugh — in his e-mail's subject line):
William Beckman, executive director of the Illinois Right to Life Committee, has a good letter to the editor in response to a recent Ellen Goodman column.
Danny Haszard, a former Jehovah's Witness, sent me the link to a story about Frederick Cecil McLean, "the most wanted child predator in the U.S. right now."

'You are a complete idiot. oh, and there are rocks in my back yard with more life than terry schiavo had left you f------ reject. I bet you were one of THOSE alter boys, werent you. You know, one of THOSE.'

'You mentioned that Al Franken more or less ridicules and makes fun of christians. don't forget, Saul did too before he became Paul. When GOD decides to have an encounter with someone who lives in disbelief....who are we to assume that person is a lost cause?
'As far as his opinions of the catholic church, let's take a reality pill for a second here. What kind of religion makes it more or at least equally important to esteem the Pope almost as much as Christ himself? And, what is this absurd pre-occupation with Mary? Sounds like man-made religion to me. Religion was created by man.........for man! God desires a relationship....not religion.'
